The phone rings...

Agent: "Dude, everything's good to go. We've got a new CBA sitting right here on my desk that all the owners have signed off on. They're ready to go back to work monday morning! All we need you to do is cast your vote."

Player: "Wait.....really??....monday? monday morning? F*#@ that it's supposed to be like 100 degrees that day! Tell them we're reading through the paperwork or something.

Not only that but i got an appointment with my tatoo artist on tuesday. Gonna get my whole left arm done...i dont think i'll be able to catch balls for at least 2 weeks.

Heck i was even thinking about getting my knee scoped. If i do it now, i'll be ready to go by the first regular season game. No hurry, right? It's awful hot..."

<_<

The more I listen to this ish, the more that sounds actually plausible. I've heard analyst after analyst ask player X what's *not* in there that you think should be or what are you guys not getting. "We don't know just yet, all we know is the owners are trying to put this on us now". No ish azzhats, eventually a decision has to be made.

The players can't sign $#!+ as far as a CBA until they recertify, they can't recertify until the court cases are settled. The players are perfectly willing to show up and work Saturday if the lockout is lifted. If the players vote tomorrow on an agreement in principle and the Doty and Brady cases are settled, that very well maybe the case. Once they are in the building they can sign off on their union cards and recertify, then we can have a CBA . They need to see the lockout is lifted.

The owners simply can't give them a timeline. It's going to get settled.

Even in the owner's timeline a CBA isn't signed until after player arrival to the facility, so your whole premise is completely wrong. The players are willing to work, that's not the issue at all.
