SacFalcFan
Articlego to www.finebaum.com and then podcasts. There was a very revealing interview today. It answers a lot. Danny Sheridan's NCAA contacts are very solid.

itsjustafleshwound
NCAA has found Auburn's Bag ManConfusingly, Sheridan later says that "Auburn had nothing to do with this" and that this third party "I won't say was working for a rogue alumni." I don't get what he's hinting at here. If the third party didn't do this with the school's knowledge and wasn't working for a rogue alumni, who is he and why did he get involved? Is he some sort of non-alumni booster? Two questions later, he says "if they are guilty of paying a student, not they but the alumni..." Huh?Finebaum sure picks winners to be on his show. As much as I would like to see Newton busted, until I see something from the NCAA or a rival school, all these updates don't seem to have much credibility. All signs point to the Newtons and at Auburn (or the third party) but there is no incentive for the "bag man" to step forward unless legal action, or more money, is discussed. Mr Pickle1
Moore of the same, maybe the "bagman" will step forward the same day Scott Moore's tape surfaces?I'm ready for some proof to, but it is BEYOND any reasonably belief that Cam didn't get paid. Absolutely beyond. Given that, if they want to keep investigating and talking about it forever, I'm fine with that too. I will say, I would be terrified as an Auburn fan. People tend to talk, eventually.

Falconsfan567
I'm just going to say that Paul Finebaum is the biggest Auburn hater in the state of Alabama. He never fails to hide his love for the Univeristy of Alabama and constantly rags on Auburn on air. So anything said on his show about Auburn should be taken with a grain of salt. That rivalry affects the way their fans think, their boosters think, their coaches and even their University administration thinks. The whole thing is basically an organization developed around beating Alabama and the end justifies the means. No matter what happens with Newton, I'm sure the whole episode has put a burr under the NCAA's saddle. They believe Newton got paid, just like everyone else believes he got paid. The NCAA has a long institutional memory and they'll be waiting for Auburn's overzealous attitude to trip them up. KeepItDownHomeCuz
Someone show me proof, just a little bit of proof. Sheridan talks about money going to Cecil's church? That was debunked a while back! Nothing says "they're guilty" like "the bagman is not a rogue booster, or associated with the university, or has anything to do with Auburn". Lol how exactly is the university's entire administration involved? What was the dean of students involvement in paying the Newtons? What was the International Student Services office involvement? How deep does this thing go? Again until I see something I'll remain optimistically Missouri on this! Remember when everyone blew their load over the "Scott Moore Tape"? How about when Cam was to be suspended from the UGA game? How about Bingogate? That kinda came and went no? Is the bagman a rigged slot machine? I expect this to be exactly where it is now come November when we get to settle it on the field! Haters Gonna Hate!

South FL Dawg
Good discussion here. Count me among the ones that belive Cecil got paid. IDK if AU knew and Tresseled it, or if they really didn't know, but Cecil didn't just decide he didn't want money for his son's athletic talents. Somebody ponied up the dough. Whether it can ever be proven is a whole other matter. I'm not optimistic it will happen, esp with AU and Cecil being able to afford all the defense lawyers money can buy. It is what it is. I was born at night but not last night, lol.

Where did they say this money came from?

pintaildrake1
i work in commercial real estate and with the gov't laying off employees, sometimes it takes a loooong time to get a CO. plus, a CO isn't necessary if structural, mechanical, electrical or plumbing is not renovated, which in a church i doubt any of the above would be involved. not saying it isn't true. i don't know one way or the other but i heard that on the radio a while ago when they were wondering where the money came from.
