sharky
Kerney - R Coleman - G Jackson - Abraham -vs- Biermann - Perry (whoever healthy) - Babineaux - AbrahamThat 2006 group was a monster, you couldn't double team one player without the other getting to the QB. That's the kind of DL we need now to go with these LB's, Safeties and corners we have now. I'm sure we would be ranked in the top three among NFL defenses. FalconFanSince1970
Did that 2006 DLine even play one game as a unit? If they did it was one game.
sharky
Did that 2006 DLine even play one game as a unit? If they did it was one game. You're wrong. They started the 06 season in Carolina where they beat the Panthers 20 - 6. The 05 year the Panthers defense was ranked #3.They played the Bucs the following week and beat the Bus 14-3. The Bucs defense was ranked #1 in 05. I do believe I know what yhou're talking about though, but we had some very good back up players that year also. Players like:Shropshire DavisCArrington even played well, and there was some others who played a good role on that DL.
FalconFanSince1970
Actually I was wrong. The 2006 Dline unit played in a grand total of two games together. @CAR and @NYG. Well 1+ games if you consider Abe didn't make it through the entire CAR game. Abe was hurt early in the season. Kerney was hurt late in the season. Grady and Rod even missed a couple of games. The 1998 unit with Smith, Dronnett, Hall and Archambeau was better.
Dem Birds
Did that 2006 DLine even play one game as a unit? If they did it was one game.Yeah, they played maybe a game and a half. Abe got hurt at the end of the first game, then when he came back Patrick Kerney and Rod Coleman were hurt.
Tribal Chief
On paper 06. In reality, 2010

great white hope
better questions might be would take another chance with the 06 DL in 2011, or keep what we have? ( potentially elimnating the injury thing)

FalconFanSince1970
Is that tore it up in a good way or bad way?I'm pretty sure he means both have been absolute ghosts. Chad was so bad when he was here people called him LavaLump and joked that Grady ate him when he came. The best thing LavaLump ever did was put an illegal spear on McNabb in 2005 and make him cry. Osiruz
If healthy...06 easily. That line was dominating. Too bad vick was a moron and wasted a great effort from one of the best 4-3 lines i've ever seen.
FalconFanSince1970
The 2006 starting DLine were paper champions. Too many injuries. I would say as a unit they weren't even in the top 20 Falcon Dline starting units. Also The 2008 DLine was better than the 2010 unit. Yep. Even with Busterson. I would say the top 5 Falcon starting Dline units are probably:2004 - Patrick Kerney, Rod Coleman, Brady Smith, Ed Jasper1998 - Chuck Smith, Travis Hall, Lester Archambeau, Shane Dronett1973 - Claude Humphrey, John Zook, Mike Tilleman, Mike Lewis2001 - Patrick Kerney, Travis Hall, Brady Smith, Shane Dronett1994 - Chuck Smith, Chris Doleman, Jumpy Geathers, Moe GardnerHonorable mention to the 71, 72 and 02 starting units.
