  1. 1. The falcons will get what positions in FA, (not what you want to see, what the falcons will do)

What will the falcons do when FA opens? I know what we all want, but what do you think the falcons will do?

we have seen year after year saying we need a DE, yet the falcons have missed out on picking up DE's in the draft and in the FA signings.

I would like to say we get a top DE but charles johnson is the top for me. I think Ray Edawrds will not make us happy and it would cost us a lot. but if we do there is other DE's that could help us, or at least help us to bring them in and work with abraham until he is gone. Cullen jenkins is who I would consider if we could not get Charles johnson. Jenkins to me is like anderson. anderson is made for 3-4 and Jenkins is made for 4-3. Jenkins could put up sacks and pressure well and cost us a lot less then Edwards and johnson, but I do not think jenkins would play better then Johnson.

I see us going after TE Miller. Gonzalez is talking of hanging it up soon. and the Falcons love how Gonzalez helped the falcons, and I think they will keep pursuing that.

I do see us picking up another O lineman. because it will be hard to keep all three lineman who are now FA for the falcons. I think it would be wise to pick up doug free or Jared Gaither, but I could also see us maybe pursuing Marshall Yanda.

I wonder about Safety. not someone that we all know of, but someone who can be a backup for injuries sake. the same can go for CB, because owens could not do williams job when he had to replace him in the playoff game. maybe Ike Taylor, steelers has great D team and maybe that is the reason this guy looked good. but he can do a lot better then what owens did. as for S maybe eric weedle.

I do not think the falcons will sign this many guys, but I do see that atleast two of the names will come of this list. who do you think and why do you the falcons will pursue with them? and again pick what do you think the falcons will do, not you.

Veteran CB for sure. TD has done that all 3 seasons he's been here. A DE but not the 2 popular names that everyone wants. The only players I see TD spending big on are the ones that are currently on the roster. Everyone forgets that Ryan and Lofton have rookie contracts ending very soon, not to forget Abe, who will most likely want more than 6 mill if he has another 10+ sack season. Al Davis screwed up everything when he gave Richard Seymour all that money (in regards of defensive linemen).

We need to replace Brian Williams.

Safety. Cornerback. Both. Whatever.

Who would welcome Darren Sharper in as a Nickel/Dime back?

I could go with that.

One way or the other TD will find fresh meat ....just prolly no one we are EXPECTING to sign .........

All knew gonzalez, all knew robinson, some knew michael turner.

DE is a must-do, as is getting a replacement for Brian Williams.

Improving at LT would be great but there are only one or two options to do there. LB isn't a must (could just resign Nicholas) but I think there are many better options out there than Nich.

Dominique Franks will be a great replacement.

Mr. Right, you constantly bag on people for expecting a lot out of unproven players, but now you think that a 5th round CB will be a difference maker? C'mon man!

Hold on, I think Franks is a better player than what you might think. I agree with Mr. Right.

Oh I think Franks is gonna be good to, Mr. Right is just being slightly hypocritical.

you do know franks was projected to go in the low 2nd rounds? I really do believe a lot of people forgot about him.

and yes you right out being unproven, but not totaly right. he proved he was great in college, and he did prove hisself in pre season, and out of the two games he was shortly played in, he did very good. a INT on one play and a tackle on the other then the ball was thrown the other way then the ball was ran up the middle.

So every oppurtunity he has gotten he has proven hisself.

You think we het CJ/Edwards, Miller and Gaither? I think we will do well to get 1 top FA (probbaly a DE) and after than we will add a bunch of mid level guys, including a veteran NB and OL depth but no more.

I'm not sure if you are saying me.

but I don't think we will get all those guys. I was stating in the beggining that we would get a couple of those guys. and I some what doubt that we will get a top DE FA. just because we say this every year and we never see it happen.

I agree I am looking forward to him playing the NB our D isn't that far off from being very good we just need to get more pressure on the QB however we want to do that...

Also with the bolded part that is what I was trying to tell you in the Weems thread.. :P

Most of TDs draft picks have been busts or ineffective. Only a few late rounders such as Biermann and Franks will make an impact.
