BleedBlack&Red
"Jones' fantasy loss is the Falcons' gain. Unlike fellow rookie A.J. Green, who went to a team where he figures to contend for a No. 1 job right away, Jones has Roddy White clearly established as the top dog in the Dirty. That means Jones doesn't have a prayer in the world of leading his team in targets, or even coming close, considering Tony Gonzalez is also still on hand. Instead, he becomes a candidate for a Jeremy Maclin-style rookie year: a clear second-banana role, with a tippety-top upside of maybe 50 receptions (and, given the Falcons' strong running game, probably fewer than that). In football terms, Jones replacing Michael Jenkins looks like a slam dunk. In fantasy terms? Jones will be the victim of serious overhype."It is an ok overview but "overhype", well little harsh to sum the view up. I do like the Jeremy Maclin comparison. And Jones will definately get 50+ passes as long as he catches them (for all the Jones haters) I really see Ryan passing more this season due to the Jones, Quizz picks. A lot of people that think about and do fantasy football are Madden heads so they are thinking how a pair with Julio and Roddy should dominate but Roddy is going to be doing more of the dominating because he is the #1 WR and the passing game goes through him
Borat
Kinda random, but I had a dream last night that we traded Roddy for A.J. Green. (Just had surgery so maybe it was the painkillers talking.
Tribal Chief
I'm pretty sure it's a reason Roddy has been the top dog the last 2 seasons. 09 we lost HD whose role was set to expand. Jenks was very, very unreliable that season. Roddy and Gonzo picked up the slack.Last season we lost Jenks early and HD was just coming back off the injury. No timing between HD and Ryan at all. No true #2 threat as well. Gonzo was there but he was mainly the 3rd down weapon. Again Roddy picked up everyones slack.Sure Jones is a rookie but dont think we went all out for no reason. I'm willing to bet he will be second on the team in yards and receptions, even over Gonzo. Gonzo is still good but he isn't the same Gonzo we traded for. Julio has until his second contract to take the #1 spot on our team and I think he will seize the oppurtunity when the time comes. Anyone expecting him to put up #1 type numbers is asking for to much seeing as though we have Chad Ochocinco 2.0 on the roster (sorry but true). Roddy is just a competitor and trash talks like every other football player. But Roddy is still a team player and doesn't take plays off. Just because Roddy tweets doesn't make him Chad. Before Twitter, every player was only heard from during game day. Now every player almost has a twitter and they say what they want. It's not like Roddy is LeSean McCoy, attacking other players
