metatron360
QB's who prefer large targets, some teams want guys like that. Jenks won't get a first. late second or early third. Redman was killing it with Jenkins. Who's to say another QB can't use that. Jenkins also has proven great speed. I like him but not in our scheme. If we bombed it 3-4 times a game to him. Jenks will come up with some, play calling is a problem. Hope jones can change this Edited July 12, 2011 by metatron360
birdz4i
the only way we could get a possible second for jenkins is if we added a first of our own.
sharky
well...all it takes is one team. there are a bunch of teams in need of recievers...st louis, cleveland, chicago, carolina, etc. you never knowThe ideal place for him would be Cleveland. a team we shouldn't have to worry about. Mr. Right
Turner would be nice. If we can fool some other team into trading him for at least a 2nd rounder, that would be a good deal.

What we would get for him I dont know but I think we can get a 3rd or 4th rd pick for him.Maybe we see a 3 way deal.

There are TONS of free agent WRs this off season better than Jenkins that can be signed cheaper than 3.5 mil. Just no way anybody is going to give the Falcons anything for him. I don't think they could trade him for a can of Pringles.

vel
I would take a 4th rounder for Jenkins in a heartbeat. He's been a decent player that has made a few game winning plays in his career, . Jones is clearly going to be our #2 and I expect HD to cement his role on our team in the slot. It's time to move on and give Jenkins a chance with another team.Game winning plays? No. He has one game winning catch in the last 3 years: 09 TB game. He made some catches that allowed other players to win the game (08 Bears, 10 Ravens)but Jenkins is not a game winning type of WR. If we lost the Bears and Ravens game, nobody on here would be calling Jenkins clutch. Hope jones can change thisThe problem with going deep to Jenkins is that Ryan HAS to put it on his numbers or he won't go up and get it. I know you watched the Pro Bowl when Ryan threw to Fitz and he was so impressed that he went up and jumped for the ball instead of waiting for it. That's just what good WRs do. Jenkins waits for the ball and this gives the cb time to make a play on it. For Ryan to go deep to Jenkins and be comfortable, Jenkins needs at least 2 steps on the CB to give Ryan room for error. If not, take the safe first down and look for Roddy later.Watch how many attempts Julio gets deep while running the same routes Jenkins had. AllStarHandyMan
i wouldnt trade Jenkins but only for a 1st because he is a ok 2wr and going to be a amazing 3wr
vel
i wouldnt trade Jenkins but only for a 1st because he is a ok 2wr and going to be a amazing 3wrWhat makes you think he will all of a sudden dominate in a lesser involved role? And don't say mismatches because he was lined up against Sam Shields in the playoffs who is technically a #3 and he was nonexistent. Jenkins has shown no traits of being a dominant player whatsoever. 0 100 yard games.

Peyton
This is true unless we're talking about a sign/trade deal. That is an NBA phenomenon, done to beat the salary cap. It's not done in the NFL...no reason for it.

Hustle Up
No way Jenkins would be traded for a 1st. If that situation happens, we be stupid not to give him up. I like to think the most logical trade is maybe a 4th and a 6th rounder for him. I'll trade him away with no thoughts if someone offered a 2nd.Yeah they would probably get a 4th rounder for Jenkins. Who knows they may actually do that

pzummo
Grimes is probably worth more in trade than any other player on our roster. He's coming off of a Pro Bowl season. We do not have a large salary commitment outside of the RFA tender. I might get flamed for saying it, as if I'm a Grimes hater, but it's the truth. If we are able to get a tender or restriction on Clabo, he would be the 2nd best trade bait.Jenkins is not good trade bait right now. He's coming off a down season where he dealt with an injury, we drafted our #2 WR which takes away part of our negotiating leverage, and he's due to make $5m this year. There's a possibility he could be traded, but he wouldn't be considered "good" trade bait because his stock is low and their are better options in FA.Another player that would be good trade bait is Moore. He had a big year and he's on his rookie deal, so he's under contract for a very reasonable salary. I would NOT want us to trade him, nor Grimes, just saying those are the guys that have high trade values. The greater their stock and the lower their salary creates the high trade value. The lower their stock and the higher their salary creates the low trade value. Look at Reggie Bush, due $12m coming off of a down year worth nothing in a trade. In comparison, Jay Cutler was wanting to get out of Denver, whining openly about it, hurting Denver's negotiating leverage, but he was coming off of a 4000 yard Pro Bowl season and still on his rookie deal, so the Bears still paid a King's ransom for him.
