Peyton
peyton, don't take this the wrong way..but you might be the dumbest smart guy i know....you know tons of facts and some of the things you post you obviously put alot of thought into...but most of the time i'm scratching my head at the conclusions you come up withLOL. Ok, I won't take that the wrong way.Last year I told anybody that would listen that it was silly to think that Owens was going to start over Grimes and that Grimes would make the Pro Bowl and Dunta wouldn't.I guess this dumb guy gets one right once in a while. Wait, no, that's 3 things I got right.

vel
dude jenkins is not only a good reciever, hes a clutch reciever...no way he gets cut for any reason, maybe traded if the price is rightDavid Tyree was the reason the Giants won the Super Bowl. Next season? Unemployed...Clutch doesn't keep you on a team. Consistentcy does. Clutchness is icing on the cake. Ask Santonio Holmes. Most clutch WR in the game and consistently does it. Peyton
Yes Jenkins is awesome. That is why TD traded 2 first round picks, a 2nd, and two 4ths this off season to replace him. You guys are gonna figure out what is up.
abcranford2
way to take it to the extreme dude...nobody is saying jenkins is superman...the guy is a legit starter in the NFL...he has a niche for making plays when we need him to the most...and his stats last year weren't all that bad considering he missed like 6 games

abcranford2
and just because we drafted jones doesn't mean jenkins is getting replaces...in case you didn't know, you can have more then 2 recievers on the field at the same time

Although I am sure that will change now that they have drafted a legitimate number 2.
abcranford2
so getting the best player imo in the draft this year makes TD a bad GM?? no, i don't think that...like i said you know the facts, but your conclusion from those facts are incorrect
Peyton
I seriously don't understand something.Michael Jenkins has been in this league for 7 years, and a full time starter for 6 years. The dude has broken 83 yards receiving in a game one time!!!! One time!!! (99 yards against Philly)Quentin McCord had like 3 career starts in his career and he busted a 188 yard game. How can people still think this guy is starting material?I mean, if the Falcons trading away the farm and then some isn't a clue, I just don't know what it will take for you guys to get it. abcranford2
yea...you are right jenkins isn't the kind of guy who is going to take over a game but when you call his number he will make the play..the dude consistantly makes plays on 3rd and 4th down especially at the end of games. Jenkins is a descent no. 2 but he will be better then the majority if not all the other no. 3 recievers...just because we made a move to go up and get a reciever who will be better then alot of teams no. 1 recievers doesn't mean jenkins is a scrub..by your rationale we must be replacing roddy also..we drafted a no. 1 reciever in julio then roddy must be getting demoted..makes sense right? abcranford2
Which conclusion is incorrect? That Jenkins isn't going to start another game for the Falcons? Ok, we'll see.depends on your definition of starter...i consider a no. 3 reciever to be a starter even though he might not play every down...just as i consider the nickel back to be a starter
abcranford2
he might not even get all the snaps as the no. 3 reciever...i'm sure they will rotate depending on the match ups we get but he will get his fair share of playing time

Yeah..OK.There is no designation for "number 1" receiver. That's just a term that us fans use. Eventually Jones will be the most productive receiver for this team, but that is hopefully 4 years down the road. When the Falcons have to start signing free agents, both their own and others, the cap space is going to look very tight. Jenkin's salary is 3.5 mil but his cap hit is close to 5 mil, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is cut at all. Now, it's possible that he would come back to the Falcons for a greatly reduced salary. I could see that.
