The results of the New Orleans Saints' 2011 draft hold enough promise that the current draft class has the potential to rival the 2006 draft, widely considered the best in Saints' history.

In 2006, the Saints kicked off the draft with the much-ballyhooed selection of Reggie Bush at No. 2 overall, and then went on to add Roman Harper, Jahri Evans, Zach Streif and Marques Colston. The 2006 draft supplied a vital core of players who ranged from the underrated and versatile (Streif) to the elite (Evans, Colston). Each player fulfilled a key role during the past five years for the NFC's winningest team over that span.

In 2011, the Saints added several promising players to bolster the team's foundation and fill vital needs on the roster. Let's take a look at five of the six draftees and see what their roles might be and how soon they might contribute.

Martez Wilson is intriguing to me. I think the guy could be a starter this year.

He's a great tackler, I'm really intrigued to see how he will transition into coverage at the Pro-level, he didnt drop much at Illinois due to the fact he was the MLB

Bleacher report? Really? Bragging about drafting Bush? Saints are a solid veteran team- if anybody outside the first rounders even makes the team it'll be impressive.

I'd say that the biggest potential impact from the later rounders is for Romeus to be healthy and be they player he was his junior and senior years. That would make for a great draft.

Romeus is intriging because he was rated very highly before the injury. Payton has a knack for hitting on them late rounders! Wilson even as a 3rd rounder is almost garuanteed a job though. (I THINK ATLEAST)
