Falcons_own_nfc_south
Updating a previous item, there is now talk in the Redskins organization that the NFL lockout will end this coming Sunday, July 10.Coach Mike Shanahan is reportedly preparing as if his team will report on time for training camp, starting July 28. The positive vibe coming out of Redskins headquarters synchronizes with a Tuesday Yahoo! Sports report that the owners and players are "closer to an agreement than many people realize -- perhaps than even some of the people involved realize." Farmer2
That would be perfect timing since I leave for vacation on the 10th. My wife will love that I'll be checking my phone every 30 minutes to see what the falcons are doing.

revenge
NFL total access reported last night that the cowboys have already made plans to open up REAL training camp in San Antonio by the end of the month, and will start moving equipment into the Alamo Dome by the 25th. (no word on if Sean Peyton plans to help)

great white hope
Man I can't wait for this FA is going to be insane teams will know who they want and there will be a lot of quick deals being made.everyone is under the impression that since there's a shorter offseason it means that the entire free agency period will be packed into the time the lockout ends to the time training camp starts. I dont get that because if you're someone who's noteworthy and you have 6 teams offering you deals are you just going to take one because the season starts soon???? or are you going to take your time and visit the teams and see what their camps are like and make a rational decision on where you will play for the next 4-6 years and not worry about how many games you miss now??I see a lot... ALOT of good Free Agents not signing anywhere in that time period and some dont even make it to the field until september or october

(also a bidding war because teams know who they want by know they have scouted everyone. Also if the 90% cap floor is in place teams will need to spend up so there will be large contracts offered,

Do you think a team is going say, oh nmadi's available? lets play 1.5 times more than what he's worth and then screw their future plans just so they can have them by the start of the season? remember the whole point of this lockout is that the NFL wants the players to take less money..that's going to come out of the salary caps

84White32Quizz
Players have an idea of who wants them and what its like in those cities just by playing there so they will have some idea as to what it would be like but I think anyone who says these teams and coaches have not had any talks with any of these FA are not be truthful.THe talks have been going on so I dont see why it would take longer for a guy to decide where he wants to play.OR we can just skip the FA period all together although imo if we grab a DE in the short period of time our new DE wont be as effected as a CB, safety, o-lineman would. I guess we will really see how good some GM's are at their job because it seems as if they should already know what they want to do and what they want to offer to their own free agents while having a hand in the other free agents.I think if they come to an agreement on the 10th then teams should have a 3 day signing period for their own free agents. That way they can categorize their free agents by the days. Day 1 ofcourse being the most important players. Then even though this will really be pushing for time they should get 6 days of NFL free agent signings.I know thats alot in a short amount of time but I feel we may see that used by some teams anyways. kane#7
**** for free I will casually ask Grimes, Nic, Clabo, Charles Johnson and Aso what they are looking for in a deal and if I casually see TD on the street somewhere I will relay that information. If TD says a counter offer I am sure one of you guys wouldn't mind telling them what it was if you so happen to run into them...Was it the Haynesworth deal when it was signed at like 12.01am the first night of FA, which everyone thought was dodgy but nothing came of it.
