Borat
CJ is restricted this season, but RE is not? Do we sign RE this season and then CJ as JA55's replacement? If they both are available this season, do we sign both? I know these scenarios aren't very likely, but Im tires of the same old same old. Not only do they need someone to play opposite of abraham but eventually need a successor or else the falcons will be back to square 1. Finally
So you are tired of the conversation so you started another one about it inviting the same old comments? Good plan, that.

E. T.
once the CBA is over... mr. blank will open up his wallet and get 2 big time game changers. thats what my contious keeps tellin me.

I know these scenarios aren't very likely, but Im tires of the same old same old.Its rumored that the new CBA will revert the minimum number of years to become a free agent back to 4, so Charles Johnson would be a unrestricted free agent. Some people think that signing him to a big contract would be risky since hes only had one season with double digit sacks but here's an article proving that he's been one of the best DEs(THE best in 2010) in the last couple years.http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/05/21/charles-johnson-already-elite/
AtlantaFanatic
Borat, I fixed your -1. Save the negs for the trolls, not the people who are wondering about situations while they are bored during a lockout.

I know I havent been on here for a long time but wasn't Biermann the one everyone thought was going to replace abe? I know he played pretty good last season, at least the games I wsas able to watch. DD: Objective Elite
I say target CJ and forget about Edwards. I would like to see Atlanta get some help in the secondary as well, Joesph from Cincinnati would be ideal. Don't forget we still need to resign Snelling, Grimes, 2 of our 3 O-lineman and the #6 pick in the draft. With that being said, I have a gut feeling Mr. Blank is 'going all in' this year and will spend the money to get a couple top end free agents. I MUS WRITE
Calvin or Charles?Calvin, Roddy, and Julio = Good Bye Secondaries.Something tells me that if we had this receiving core MM would still run turner up the middle 70% of the time for 1or2 yard gains . He wouldnt know how to handle that type of talent. Edited July 1, 2011 by I.MUS WRITE

He wouldnt know how to handle that type of talent.Something tells me you don't your as from a hole in the ground. MM didn't run Turner 50% of the time. Left, right or middle. In fact, if you combine his rushes and passing plays he didn't even break the 33% snap mark. And you say 70%? OK. phattywankenobi
Yes we sign both this season and then have 3 DE's making 8M+ a year and the Falcons and switch to a 5-2 alignment to justify the high price tag of 3 DE's.

By all accounts, 4 year free agents now are gonna be truly unrestricted. So.......CJ would be available THIS year.Has there been some CBA deal agreed to stating otherwise in the last two hours?
