MSalmon
I do and always have liked Julio's style of play better. I have never been a huge fan of finesse (isn't it obvious) and while there is nothing wrong with Green, I just prefer Jones and his style a little more.In our type of offense i prefer Jones. We are always going to run the ball as long as Mike Smith the HC. Jones' blocking is key to staying on the field. Another aspect of Jones' game that i like is his physicality. He'll be a definite threat across the middle of the field as well. Green will be awesome vertically, but he's too slight to go across the middle of the field on a regular basis. MattM12
Could of gone number one if newton wasn't in the draft?!?!Never really thought about it, that is hilarious though.Because unless I eat crow, I know the number 1 pick would of been better spent on either WRs than that overrated d-bag. markdzul
When are the ESPN and NFL TV guys NOT talking out of their *****? Seriously you have no clue so find a new argument.Obviously you are more qualifed than anybody getting paid to analyze film and give opinions on the subject at either one of those networks.... lol...I have no issue with Green, think he will be a great player in his own right. I am a believer in work ethic on and off the field. Just using stated opinions by former players and analysts that have actually played the game on a higher level than high school... I see you are a Bulldog fan and understand your position.....

Look at all these "draft experts". When's the last time they ever got anything more than a few obvious picks right outside of the #1? NFL Draft Fan 07
I don't see anything special in Green personallyThis is the single dumbest thing I've read on this message board in a very long time. There's nothing wrong with backing Julio, but there's a reason we were trying to move up for AJ. He's a better receiver at this point. And while Julio has more upside because of his athletic potential, AJ is probably the safest choice in the draft.
Radical
...there's a reason we were trying to move up for AJ.I take it that you can back that statement with a solid source?
NFL Draft Fan 07
I take it that you can back that statement with a solid source? It was rumored before and after the draft. I can't say we were trying to do it for sure, but are you going to tell me that we moved up for Julio and weren't considering moving up for AJ? I can't say we were trying to do it for sure, but are you going to tell me that we moved up for Julio and weren't considering moving up for AJ?Considering how well Julio Jones molds with the identity of the team, I'd say that he were looking at him more than Greene. I'd say Jones fits our mold as a WR just as much as Sean Weatherspoon fit our mold of an OLB.
ol'_dirty2
Not that this is the most accurate of comparisons, but remember Pete Warrick and Lavernaeus Coles in college? Based on that it was clear that Warrick would be a HOF'er and Coles wouldn't make a team right? Well...this is where the big boys play...the score is 0-0 between them now. We'll see who wants to work to be great. I like our decision (I would have liked it if we jumped up and got AJ too though).
chrislee1982
Falcons knew AJ is not going to pass Bengals.. IMO Probably we did try to trade with Bengals first but Bengals didn't want to negotiate a trade so I think they knew they were getting Julio all along.. Before the draft I was big fan of AJ still is but after I read articles about Julio.. I'm so glad we picked up Julio instead of AJ seriously...
