The 50 highest-earning American athletes, Ryan at # 8

Not sure how entirely accurate it is but Ryan is at # 8 and to me it is much deserved. Seeing him in that company and saying "yep that's about right" is a great feeling. Don't really care what the haters think he has been more than worth it and has earned his contract and helped make our Franchise legit contenders each and every year.

In this particular case, it's kind of a fluke because he happens to be getting the biggest portion of his contract in a bonus this year. Next year he won't even be in the top 50 probably.

He makes more endorsement cash than I thought he did. Not as good as every other QB on this list but still...

Really? I was surprised at how low the number is. Manning makes more than 30 times Ryan and Brady makes more than 20 times Ryan. That surprised me.

It's low, don't get me wrong but I expected it to be lower. If I'm not mistaken, his most visible campaign is as a local Air Tran spokesperson.

I am pretty sure I have seen him in some national razor ads, but I couldn't tell you for which razor.

two things that stand out to me.

1 golf at both one and two

2 "With a six-year, $124 million deal, the Hawks made Johnson the top-paid free agent in last summer's loaded class, topping LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Bosh and Amar'e Stoudemire."

I know he has Air Tran (which is arranged by the Falcons), Axe for hair and Gillette, but he doesn't do a lot of endorsements. I remember in an interview he talked about not wanting to have endorsements interfere with his focus on football. He wanted to keep the commitment level manageable.

Good!

He's already made more money since 2008 then I will make in my lifetime.

Glad his priorites are in order, not as if they were ever in doubt.
