Buford – The Falcons’ seven-on-seven practice on Tuesday was the most spirited one it weeks.

Perhaps, it was the first appearance of Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White or it may have been the news that the NFL Lockout could be coming to a close in two weeks, according to the Washington Post.

“Hopefully, they can get it done,” Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said. “I’ve seen kind of the same reports that everybody else has seen. Like I’ve said all along, I’ve got good faith in both sides that we’ll come to an agreement and be able to get this worked out so that we can get back to work.”

Ryan and the rest of the Falcons hope that a deal is reached by early July, which would give them time to get ready for the normal start of training camp. The Falcons reported for training camp on July 29 last season.

Also, an early July settlement would allow for teams to have a frenzied couple of weeks of free agency if a new collective bargaining agreement is reached.

Neither, the NFL or the trade association has commented about being close to a settlement.

“You never know what’s true and what’s not,” Ryan said. “I hope it gets done as soon as possible. I think it’s good that they are working together and trying to come to an agreement. Whether if it comes next week or in the next few [weeks], we just hope it’s done before training camp would normally roll around.”

Since the NFL owners imposed the lockout in March, the NFLPA decertified and filed a lawsuit in federal court. The Eight Circuit Court of Appeals has not ruled on the NFL’s appeal of an injunction to block the lockout that was granted by the District Court.

Well that is really not good for him. As you need to be a team player. As you need to have chemistry with your team. Not just on game day. But off the field as well. Attending practices even when there is a lockout. To still have chemistry with the team. But Roddy is a diva indeed. And needs to start growing up.

Oh come on now, are any of you guys watching the news. It's the same thing everywhere, the starting quarterback is throwing to the 2nd and 3rd string receivers EVERYWHERE. The main receivers are not showing up to these things. Did Steve Smith or Hakeem Nicks go to the Giants workout?? Did you hear about Brees connecting with Colston in the Saint's workouts?? Did Steve Smith catch passes from Cam Newton at the Panther's workouts?? Come on, give the guy a break. Also, he was running a friggin' camp for children last week.

Roddy didn't show up to a non-sanctioned practice after taking a massive beating last season and recovering? So what? What the focus should be is that an unpaid Julio Jones is attending and looking great.

Some people are way to over-dramatic around here.

Did anyone see the film of the falcons 7 on 7 on NFL network yesterday? Roddy is okay and in shape people. Caught a ball on two defenders as usual. Jones is going to have a monster year! He used to be double covered at Alabama and is going to enjoy 1 on 1 coverage. I think defenses will worry about Roddy and not the unproven rookie. He is going to BURN his man!! Are you all ready for some deep bombs from Ryan?? :D

It's not practice- even the players aren't calling it practice.

There's no coaches, no film, no new material, no mandate to be there. White has an incredible rapport with Ryan, knows the playbook inside and out and keeps himself in great shape- no need for him to be there.

It's great for Jones because he's got a playbook and can learn a lot and start developing a rapport with Ryan, Veterans can use the extra time off.

I fixed it no practice. Did you see the catch though! It was beautiful. I have always said that I was not worried that Roddy was not on the field. He had showed up to some of the 7 on 7 s and he was dinged up last year. He needed the rest because we need him this season. I pretty sure he knows that and was and is taking things slow.

i think it was good that white didnt come cause that gave Ryan some time to pass to the other weapons... and hope him and Harry can get something going Ryan over throw him and under throw him a lot so maybe that have a little feel for each other and Harry can start catching little better! GO FALCONS!!!

Roddy Has been running a football camp for children in South Carolina.

It's not like the guy has been at home sitting on the couch. I'd much rather him take a week or two off to be a positive role model to children than be here for a glorified throwing session that isn't going to matter at all in a few months.
