THE ICEMAN
If the Falcons aren't the top offense in the NFC South now the only thing holding them back is Matt Ryan because now he has more weapons than pretty much any other QB really the Packers,Colts,Saints,Patriots when you really breakdown the rosters the Falcons now not only have a top 5 WR but come next year they may have 2 of the top 8 or 10 WRs and they also have a top 5 TE a top 5 RB and other guys like Micheal Jenkins,Jacquizz Rodgers and Harry Douglas and I'll mention Eric Weems because he does have some big play ability and played good last year(don't know why he didn't get more time last year guess they could afford to lose on special teams) the only glaring need I can see is a guy to replace and add depth at TE but there loaded every where else

pzummo
Julio is unproven. I hope as much as everyone else that he'll be a top 10 WR. But the truth is top 10 WR's do not come around every day. It's tough to say Ryan has better weopons than Rodgers. Driver is their #2 and he has had 1000+ yards 6 out of the last 7 years. Their WR depth is also more proven than ours. And Finley is a beast of a TE when he's healthy.I hope we are the top offens in the NFL. But if we are not, saying Ryan is the one holding us back is a bit premature.
Theyhateme : )
The Saints may still have a slight edge only because of our inability to sack Brees....that's it. We're way better. But to consistantly beat them and brag about it, we must destroy Brees and we haven't been doing that.

Fortunately, for falcons fans, neither of those is likely to occur. The thing is, it's not the "skill players" so much as the Oline that could hold all of those offenses back. ukfalc
If the OL isn't good enough then we only have ourselves to blame, as it is an area that we have underinvested in for a very long time. My other concern is with Mularkey. I'm still not entirely convinced that he has the philosophy or creativity to get the best out of talent. paulitik
We have more talent top to bottom, but the Ain'ts scheme is really what makes them so explosive and Brees is the perfect QB to execute it. Our problem is Mularkey has an elite QB and treating him like he's Tommy Maddox or Kordell Stewart. Our scheme limits Matt more than it exploits his talents. Let's hope that changes. Falcon Fan In NJ
I don't believe Our offense is better. Julio is unproven and so is Quizz. Im optimistic but at the same time we got to be realistic. We have added 2 great pieces to our offense but the saints offense is so explosive mostly because of thier QB and their Coack. Sean Payton and Drew Brees are a perfect match. We don't have that kind of offensive minds on our teams. We are very talented and can only improve and hopfully this year is the year Ryan takes the next step.
