Yeah. Of that bunch, I don't think Hanson will make it.

He definitely should. Just a few NL rankings for Hanson this season: 3rd in ERA (7th MLB), 5th in K's (10th MLB), tied for 2nd in wins (same), 5th in WHIP (11th MLB), 1st in BAA (3rd MLB), 3rd in OPS against (8th MLB), only given up 89 total bases, good for first among all qualified SP (3rd MLB).

Oh yeah, I totally agree he should make it, I just have a bad feeling that he won't.

Do you guys not think prado will be an all star? I think he's a shoe in

He won't make it as a left fielder this year. He would need strong power numbers to compete with some of the other left fielders and his BA is not what it was last season when he really destroyed at the plate and competed for the batting title for a good portion or the season.

Anyone know where he is at in the voting though?

The was borderline before he got hurt. Being out for 2+ weeks will end his All-Star chances.

Someone to watch is Chipper Jones. If he gets hot I could see him getting a nod, especially with the derth of good third basemen in the NL.

Brian McCann, Jonny Venters, Jair Jurrjens and Tommy Hanson all should be locks for the ASG. If not it's robbery!

falconsfan567. I think Hanson needs 1 more win or at least a quality start his next outing to get that "lock" status. Yes he should be there but if one of them is not selected then Hansen's the likely one off the list like somebody said.

But overall I agree. Those four should be there.

JJ got the best ERA, id say he's the most valuable.

Lots of things go into WAR beyond ERA. For example, if JJ and Joe Pitcher had the same ERA, but Joe Pitcher had 20 more Innings Pitched, he's have the higher WAR.

Ballpark factors also play a roll in it. A 2.00 ERA in Philadelphia is "worth" more than a 2.00 ERA in Atlanta, because Philly's ballpark plays to better offense.
