AtlanticFit
Meier is rarely discussed on here (mainly because of lack of play time). Mike Smith has said that he is recovering ahead of schedule and will definitely play in 2011. I want opinions on what his impact will be. A Finneran-like clutch WR role? A Douglas-like non impact "still recovering" year? Or possibly even Jordy Nelson-like "out of nowhere" couple of games?I watched his pro day workout a couple days ago and came away impressed. He doesn't seem to be the fastest WR out there, but his vert and shuttle looked good.

AtlanticFit
Sunshine was COle Magner. Wasnt that the dudes nameYeah, but people tend to use that euphemism when referring to any football player that looks like Kroy Biermann's girlfriend. I'm concerned about his speed and quickness, I don't know how it will translate to the NFL. But his hands seems to be great. If he can manage to get separation from the line of scrimmage, he should be a very good player.
The Falcon Jedi Knight
Meier is excellent at finding soft spots in zones. He used to be a QB.

atljbo
4.5 for a 6'2 220+ pound WR.... Jordy Nelson ran a 4.5 alsoI think Meier can be a good #4 WR ... In today's NFL a good #4 (or 3) is Huge for an offense....That what makes the packers to dangerous... The guy was turning heads before his injury and TD and Coach Smith seem to be really high on him... I see how Peyton Manning throw it to Blair White.... Meier could bring that. Sun Tzu 7
They want him to be like Finneran.Who knows how he'll turn out but it took Finneran a few years before he even got on the field. I think Meier is going to be a possession WR but to be honest I'd rather keep Finneran because he's proven and an asset in so many other areas like special teams, leadership, and endzone jumpball defense. I think Finn could have had a better career with more consistent quarterback play when he was in his prime. If Meier could have a "Ed McCaffrey-type" career, that would be aweseome. Quarterback
He has no NFL history so he'll have to earn it in training camp like every other receiver not named White, Jones and probably Jenkins.

Faithful Falcon
4.5 isn't slow at all.You know! People think too much of the 40 time as it is. The greatest WR of all time ran like a 4.
Sheldon Cooper
I think the one thing he has going for him is great hands. Consistancy is the key with him because we probably wont call his # very often, but when we do, he can be counted on to execute. I liken him to Finneran in that Fin would come in on rare occasion but he delivered when the ball came his way. A lot of people question his ability to separate but if he is part of a 3 or 4 WR set he would be covered by their 3rd or 4th best cover man. I like his chances. He will probably surprise the defense more often than not. With Roddy, Julio, Gonzalez, Turner, Snelling, and Rodgers, Meier and Douglas will be able to really hurt the defense because most people will be more worried about everyone else. I'm sure they will have plays specifically for Meier and Douglas intended to exploit the weakest defender.

Meier could bring that. Not to try and correct you here but...there is a #4 on the depth chart but not really on the field. You have 2 starting WR's (1 and 2 but interchangeable by play), First team slot and second team slot. Then rotational crew...depending on the team. I think he'd play utility WR which is a term that means=wherever you put him at that time. Finn was second team slot and rotational. Weems was utility and HD was first team slot. Guest Spot on Dtan8
Nope, slow, white, possession receiver. Quartz at most (useful in some, small ways), Dog turd at least.
Karst41
4.5 isn't slow at all.The difference between 4.4 40 and a 4,5 40 is about 12" per every 10 yards. If a defender gives him a cushion on a straight route the the advantage go to the defenderIf the receiver breaks in any direction on a route then the defender has to make up lost ground. Most of it just comes down to the length of a hand. GENERALZOD
Because of his lack of play I forget he is on the team sometimes. I don't know a lot about him at all, but from reading and hearing from others that do I am excited to see what he can bring to the team. Definitely sounds like another weapon for the Falcons from what I've heard.
