falconmaniac
I dont think its that big of a deal. Near the end of the season Roddy was dinged up. There are reports that he was at some practices, just not running routes. That's ok with me. Let Roddy get back to 100% cause were gonna need him next year. Who's to say he wasn't giving Jones some expertise while watching him. Im pretty sure he gave him some pointers. You lead by example! Roddy should be there, on the field, running routes and catching balls. He should be thinking CHAMPIONSHIP now and be on the field showing Julio the ropes. From everything I have read...most of our practices have had around 15 to 20 people in attendance. I have read MANY articles where some teams have 30 to 40 players showing up.I may get flamed for this but....oh well.......I think that the leaders of this team should be on the field at these practices taking part in the activities preparing to win a Super Bowl!I know that some of you are not going to like what I am about to say but it is the truth....Roddy is starting to become more diva like. He talked alot more trash last year, he is not joining the team for workouts. I liked it better when he was the silent guy who just let his play on the field do the talking. HE IS STILL BETTER than most #1 wr's when it comes to diva like behavior....I just hope that he doesnt go that rout.

Borat
But, but, but....I was told by that weird Borat type poster that Julio Jones has bad jump ball skills and hands, and all he can do is body catch, and as such, he's not a dynamic, elite talent, more of a no. 2.Are you saying that that isn't true? When did I ever say that? Julio Jones will be a stud! Edited June 10, 2011 by Borat.Sagdiyev

Land Shark
...reading the threads on this topic for the last month or two; I have to say, I've seen every game Julio played in college and I'm pretty sure most posting here have NO IDEA just how good this kid is.The stats just don't tell the story in this case as Saban is a run-run-run type offense with solid D. Even in that situation with conservative QB and philosophy Julio was able to put up some crazy numbers here and there. The kid is a freak. He's got a crazy vertical leap, 100yrd time, work ethic of Tony Gonzalez; ...but there are so many intangibles with this kid that supercede all that. Can't wait to see how he gets into the scheme. Mr. Right
He's also taking pointers from fellow wide receiver Michael Jenkins, with seven seasons under his belt, and anyone else he can learn from.I think Michael Jenkins needs to learn from Julio Jones. bamaiz2sirius4u
I have a feeling that this is going to happen to a lot of DB's this year.It probably looked similar to this and this pic was taken when he was in high school. Mr Pickle1
When did I ever say that? Julio Jones will be a stud!I didnt' realize there was actually a poster named Borat. There's another guy, with a different name, that reminds me of a Borat type. Not you.
Zodiac
You act like you've never seen that happen to Grimes before.Who would that best #3 happen to be? Is he on the roster now?Maybe because I never have.
mrfahaji
Lovin' it. D*mn, there better be a season. I'm getting hungry for Falcons football, and articles like this only amp it up that much more! I'm not thrilled with Roddy's absence. Even if he's nursing the knee, why not build some camaraderie with JJ? But, I'm not going to question one of the best in the league at his position too much. And regardless, sounds like we've got a deadly duo in the works at WR.Agree that White should have made an effort with Jones coming in, but hasn't it been reputed that Roddy never does much training in the offseason?!The article also highlighted another benefit from having Jones - players in the secondary get to practice against another top receiver. nobkowski
It probably looked similar to this and this pic was taken when he was in high school.LIKE IT !!This is what we needed in the play off game on the pass that was a little short in the end zone, instead of the slip by Jenkins. Roddy has always been my favourite Falcon but the way he goes on is a bit annoying. And I know what you're saying about other teams getting more players for practices, I thought this team was supposed to be full of good characters?! I'm sure it will be fine in the end...
