Guest jb aka johnnybuc
Yeah, I get paid, but it's a seasonal contract. Whether a contract is offered to me again this season (if there is a season), who knows? To tell you the truth, I'm not sure I would be up for it again it one is offered. That must be so very cool to get paid to do something that you're so passionate about. Dago
It would be hard to imagine that he knows nothing about it, I'll give you that.J.Mike use to refer to this time of year as the "June Swoon", meaning there was not much going on at the Branch. Add a lockout on top of that and it's probably as busy as a tomb around there these days.Ever lost a job? I've lost several due to "downsizing" and "cutbacks". I was never offered a reduction in pay or hours or any choices at all other than to hit the door and file for unemployment. I applaud the other franchises that (for now), have chosen NOT to invoke pay cuts and lay-offs, but like we've already agreed on, the longer this lockout drags on, the more folks are gonna get hurt around the entire league.Personally, I think any pay cuts should start at the top in any big business (and it IS a business, ya know), but I've never seen that happen.ok...then we are in agreement.and yes, I agree that more teams will do this if the lockout continues but it is way too early IMO. Since there isn't much going on this time of year anyway, no revenue has been lost yet so it was very preemptive to say the least

pencilpusher. just because
Arthur Blank4400 Falcon ParkwayFlowery Branch, Ga. 30542I figured posting this on a public message board of the team which he is owner of should trickle up to him. pencilpusher. just because
Look dude, I don't know the specifics so I won't pass judgement. I am on record IN THIS THREAD stating that I think it stinks, and nowhere do you see me saying that I think Blank (or whoever) did the right thing.Concerning Arthur directly, he is widely known for his charities and generosity as well as pouring millions into the Falcons organization. One thing to consider is there may not be very much going on in Flowery Branch during this lockout. I imagine there could be some staffers sitting around with not much (if anything), to do. A small pay cut may have looked pretty good to them vs. getting laid off. But I'm just speculating, as is everyone else who isn't directly involved. How do you guys know so surely he knows what goes on in those charities but he is apparently clueless concerning job cuts in the org? It is zero superbowls, but bliss all the same.According to the AJC, the Falcons have not cut ANY jobs but rather have invoked temporary minor pay cuts for some office staffers. Nobody in Flowery Branch has lost their job.
pencilpusher. just because
I posted it so you can write a protest letter! What job cuts? Why would I protest that falcon fans are losing their jobs? Just wanted to point out lo Arthur aint no angel when it comes to his pennies. The job cuts that are coming in the form of lesser pay. Less pay is the same as less hours and less hours is less of a job. Arty is greedy, that axe is falling.
