Undrafted Free Agents

Recommended Posts

When or If this whole lockout thing gets cleared up, which undrafted free agents do you think the Falcons should go after. I really like Kendrick Burney, DB from UNC or Pierre Allen, DE from Nebraska. I think there is plenty of talent left for the Falcons to shore up their D.

Burney had some character issues I believe is what dropped him out of the draft, I think he was originally labeled as a 4th rounder. I know Pierre Allen had some injuries in his senior year and thats probably why he went undrafted. Not sure if he was projected higher.

I really like Pierre Allen, and you can never have too many DE's. They are quickly becoming the most important position on defense due to the fact that they're the "anti-quarterback"

Also, if the wanna have Abe around for a few more years, they need somemore guys they can rotate in for him so he can take plays off.

there is quite a few good players that are udfa. between them and fa i think we can get shored up petty well.

I originally had a problem with giving up so much in the J.J. trade until the draft was over and realized how many quality football players were left on the board.

David Mims - 6'8" 331 lbs, over 36" arms, 29 reps 225lbs. He's raw but he's a monster and projects to the right side, where we have two UFA's.

Pierre Allen - 6'4" 273 lbs, 4.67 40, DE. 3 year starter with a lot of production on a top level Nebraska defense.

Kyle Hix - 6'7" 319 lbs. Started all 11 games for Texas at LT.

Devon Torrence - 6'0" 199 lbs. Buckeyes CB. 4.5 40 but did the 3 cone drill in 6.75. Plays special teams and has very good change of direction. He also must have decent hands, he only had 4 INT's in 2 seasons but Tressel put him out at WR early one and he caught 4 passes. You don't put a CB at WR if he doesn't show good hands.
