Not to be a dck, but you did read what you just wrote, right? I mean, are a lot of those Saints wins due to Brees' excellence, or "the team"? Would you have won that Super Bowl WITHOUT Brees? Gone to the Super Bowl without Brees?I think you've answered your own question. Of course the QB is the main determinate.

And it DOUBLE trumps the absolute nothing that Freeman has accomplished. But this is a Bash the Falcons board, right?

Whatever can be said negative about Ryan, Freeman hasn't even reached that level yet. But all the bashing/negativity is toward the Falcons here, right!!??

I'll agree with that! Freeman hasn't reached that level yet due to being a year behind Ryan and not having much in the way of talent around him at the skill positions his first 9 starts. But what he's shown since is that once the rest of his team starts catching up he'll not squander it the way Ryan has. THAT is the main Point of this thread. Just like Big L said the continual bashing is due to the TATFer's coming here saying how great he is and how his poor performance in the playoffs aren't even his fault.

Exactly. Ryan is 4-0 against Freeman, but against the Packers in the playoffs and Saints on MNF it was the defense's fault. So he gets all the credit for the win, but none for the loss. So I come here to point that out and that's when it gets . . . . interesting.

If Brees had played as bad as Ryan in the playoffs. YES, it would've been his fault they lost but difference being..........BREES SHINED and they won a Lombardi Trophy! Take those rose colored glasses off and maybe you'll see that Ryan is not close to being a Super Bowl contending QB. He may some day. maybe even this season but up until now he hasn't shown that he is.

I think its more, New Orleans Loves Brees

as they should

lets see how much they love Saints when Brees Retires or gets hurt and they are a 4-12 Ball Club again

Its Easy to Love a Winner

If it's just Brees...then why didn't he have this success in San Diego??
