Didnt Arian Foster lead the NFL in yards last season?

That's what I'm asking. If it is based on this past season; Foster deserves top spot, IMHO. However, if it's career; than Foster does not deserve the top spot because he has only had one good (incredible) season.

What are we basing it on? This past season? Entire career? Projection for next season?

Base it on what players you think are better. It's that simple. That's how rankings are done.

If I would've wanted specifics, I would've asked for specifics.

Overall, career-wise you have to put Steven Jackson in the top 5. Doing what he's done on that horrible Rams team all these years is pretty incredible.

I've always thought he was a top five guy, and better than Turner. I just get burnt for it everytime, so I try to at least slightly satisfy the beggars on here.

he in the top 5 not sure were though and he may not have the burner type of speed any more but the guy is a true "work horse" as he can handle 330+ carries a year but not that you brought up the subject he is going on 30 years old and we may need a starter so lets move in to the first round in 2012 next year and take LaMicheal James I think he would be tremendous in a Falcons uniform in 2012

Turner is ranked too high IMO. As much as I like the big guy he is extremely one dimensional. It's too bad that he never developed the receiving part of his skill set.

i'm happy with what turner does for us but i personally think he's overrated on these boards.

i don't think he's a top-5 back, probably around #10. these are my rankings based on short term success.

1. Adrian Peterson

2. Chris Johnson

3. Jamaal Charles

4. Maurice Jones-Drew

5. Arian Foster

6. Peyton Hillis

7. Ray Rice

8. Steven Jackson

9. Michael Turner

10. LaGarrette Blount (Though, I do expect him to enter the top-5 soon enough)

if turner gets his burst back and can get to the line quicker, he'll definitely shoot up these ranking. right now, he's slow getting to the hole. he's tied with peterson for 2nd most broken tackles in the league but he only got >4.0 ypc 5/17 games this year which is not good enough. partly to do with the oline but also, partly to do with his lack of burst.

I saw Turner on a plane to Philadelphia a month or so ago, and dude looked kinda chunky. I knew he was thick and all, but I was really surprised by how un-athletic he seemed. Not a knock on the guy 'cause he gets the job done, but I was definitely surprised.

On the plus side, his personality seemed really chill, and I know from AF.com videos that he's down to earth with a great sense of humor. He was wearing just jeans and a t-shirt without TOO crazy of a watch, it was blinged out but not over the top.

As far as his ranking, he has to be top five based on his production in Atlanta. 1,400 yard seasons are nothing to sneeze at. I would have loved to see how he would do with a reliable change of pace back behind him, but Norwood has been SOFT.

Troll....

 NFL.com's Ranking....

GROUP A (1-5)

1. Maurice Jones-Drew, Jaguars (>): Jones-Drew was fifth in rushing while playing in 14 games. He plays with a bull's eye on his back due to the lack of a great passing game in Jacksonville.

2. Arian Foster, Texans (^): A rising star who did it all in his first season as a starter, finishing first in rushing yards and second in runs of more than 10 yards.

3. Chris Johnson, Titans (>): Johnson was fourth in rushing yards, but fell well short of his prediction to have the greatest rushing season ever. Things could get tough when Jake Locker takes the field and defenses focus on the run game.

4. Adrian Peterson, Vikings (>): The best back in the NFL, but he too could be paired with a rookie quarterback, which spells extra defenders near the line of scrimmage.

5. Michael Turner, Falcons (>): A solid workhorse who finished third in rushing and tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns. The Falcons' passing game creates conflicts for defenses and Turner will benefit from a lot of run audibles against two-high safeties. He could have a big year.

Arian Foster had more receiving yards than Michael Jenkins. It's time to get a new RB and new WR.

Jedi is right.

Turner has to drop his weight to 240 or Less.

1st in attempts.

3rd in the league in yards.

Yards per carry is 4.1 which is really low. (30-34 in the stat sheets)

His weight and attempts is what gains him so many yards, and that my friends, is

a candle burning at both ends in the NFL

I would love to see Turner drop to 235lbs and give us 6 more years of being an even better RB.

I will rank Turner at #4, but he aint no Walter Payton.
