BleedBlack&Red
My $0.02 on a couple of things, mainly Babs though. For this thread I wanted to talk about my favorite D player, Jonathan Babs. This guy I expect this year to be beastly if we get good outside pressure from the DEs and Corey Peters or Peria J step it up. Regardless from the 09-10 season he performed, even with Kroy, who IMO is a little better than most people think. Yes he has a animal looking gf, and she is probably taking away from his concentration but he will rotate good with John Ab since he is getting up there in age. Back to Babs I just wanted you fans to see how good of a DT we have in Babs, 09-10 season combined:Combined Tackles: 74Sacks: 10PDF: 4INTs: 1FFs: 4Now I know it isn't the best DT stats ever but if you compare it to Top 5 ranked Haloti Ngata (ranked by the NY Times) Twoism Ngata 09-10Combined Tackles: 71Sacks: 7PDF: 6INTs: 0FFs: 1I can find myself very happy with what we have in Babs, and maybe Someone like Mike Patterson who isn't to old (27), good, in size (to stuff the run), experienced, and wouldn't be to expensive. Only if PJ and Peters didn't step it up in training camp, which we probably won't have but still its ok to dream. How is that for a lady?O yeah Babs is beast in Madden 11. I think I have9 sacks with 3 games left in the season. Muhahaha.
paulitik
Babs has to be the most under the radar player in the NFL. ****, he's under the radar here. Good post.
Twoism
Good read. Babs is a solid defensive tackle who will only improve when he is surrounded with more and more talent in the years to come.As if a little kef killed anyone.

Nerdy Bird
Babs has been the most consistent player our the Falcons D for a few years now.

Lou_Dog
Jerry still has a shot to be something special. If we just clone a couple more babs we would be set

The Falcon Jedi Knight
I love Babineaux. He is one of the best DTs in the NFL, but remains relatively unknown outside Atlanta.
Mr. Right
Both Vick and Babineaux were charged with the same crimes - killing dogs and possessing marijuana. Yet only one was excommunicated. Perhaps there was some sort of vendetta against Vick... Edited May 31, 2011 by Mr. Right
paulitik
Babineaux is one of our best playmakers. But unfortunately, it seems like our two-faced front office treated him and Vick differently as they both killed dogs.Killing a dog for sport, and killing a dog trying to protect your children are two totally different situations. Mr. Right
I see you have edited your original post, but would you care to expound on the above, Mr. Right? There's lots of hate for Vick. Heck, people even likened him to Voldemort in Harry Potter by calling him YKW. Even mentioning Vick on the forums led to a ban (probably why people started calling him YKW). Yet, where was the Falcon Filter when Babineaux did the same things? No consistency. Edited May 31, 2011 by Mr. Right

Yet, where was the Falcon Filter when Babineaux did the same things? No consistency.Even a blind man can see that there's as much love for MV7 around the NFL as there is hate. The reason peeps in here started to refer to him as "YKW" back in the day was because there was a separate forum for MV7 on these boards and if you spelled out his name in TATF in '08, the post/thread would be moved or deleted. It was damage control by the front office because these boards had become a very ugly place to visit what with a divided fan base.Correct me if I'm wrong, Mr. Right, ( a little play on words there), but wasn't Babs acquitted of animal cruelty charges in a court of law? I'm not trying to be a smart azz. I really don't remember. Seems to me the charges were dropped?

BleedBlack&Red
Didn't think anyone would really reply. Kinda got off topic though. Helloooo fellow Falcon Fans, what about Mike Patterson joining the team?

I think Babs will be a real force this season (if we have a season), and that he might have done better last year if not personally distracted by his own screw-ups, as in the DUI thingy. He's a great player, extremely athletic and often overlooked.

But still no feedback on Mike Patt, the guy last season had 14+ more tackles than Babs(I may be wrong) but still I know for sure he had more. So stuff the run yes! Put him on JA55 side and I see a great D-Line with JA55, Mike Patt, Babs, and a step it up LDE (Biermann or Sid) I have lost all hope in J Anderson. Twoism
I guess it would depend on whether or not we add another defensive end. Or possibly we do both?I think our FO is more comfortable with our interior than exterior, though.
