falconmaniac
On my drive home from work last night Jason was a guest on Moving the Chains.I do not have a link to the audio but this is what I took from his conversation.Jason wants the lockout to end. He said that he doesnt want to sound as if he is against the NFLPA but....that they needed to get out of the courts and back to negotiating! Pat told him that there are many players who feel the same way and then asked Jason if he "had a voice".Jason said that he doesnt feel as if he does have a voice in the matter.Pat went on to tell him that there are more than 250 players that are in Snellings same situation (free agent without having a free agency period) and feel the same way about not fighting this in court and getting back to REAL negotiating. Then Pat told Jason that HE (Jason) should be reaching out to the other 250 players and get a group together and challenge what the NFLPA is doing and that mabey with 250 voices they will be heard.By some of Jason's comments made....I really do not think that he will be a Falcon next year. He didnt once say that he would like to remain with the Falcons. He said that he is 27 (inching ever so close to the magical 30 # for RB's)and he needed to get that one big pay day. Pat agreed with him and told him that he is very much like Turner was in San Diego, playing behind a true stud but being good enough to start. falconmaniac
Thoughts?Glad he is wanting the NFLPA to start negotiating.Stinks that he sounds as though he will not be a Falcon unless he GETS PAID!
falcoholic2010
I really like js44 but this is a business an it seem like $ an a nice contract is priority with a ring beena close 2nd. IMO
pzummo
Snelling was a 7th round pick. Nobody can blame him for wanting a payday. He hasn't had one and his time is running out. Every player wants a ring, but the first priority for every human being is taking care of themself and their future. This is a LOT different than a former 1st rounder that's made $50m looking for another payday in lieu of a ring.
metatron360
Well I think the falcons should let him test the waters or sign him to a decent contract. The guy sits behind turner and can succeed past 30 his wear n tear is minimal and his presence can relieve turner who pushs hard and could get injured. The fact is we have no real replacement for turner so Snelling is a must unless there is a FA out there but it's unlikely. We could have 4 RB this season on deck. But I would prefer to sign Snelling to a higher medium contract cut norwood, love the guy but we need a guy on the field.Quiz is still yet to prove he will be successful so Norwood may hang around but I think his contract is up to.It will be the storyline for preseason. dyoshot
I agree with him. He deserves to be paid and to see if he can start for someone. Falcons should let him test the waters. I
atljbo
Yea...Atfirst i thought it was a lock that snelling would be back... I still think its a chance he wont get the payday he is looking for and we sign him... One of my friends told me the Bronco's are interested in Snelling (heard it on a Denver radio station)If the guy can get his big payday somewhere else... I feel like he deserve it... I do think the Draft RB depth hurt him some... I'm a Snelling fan .. Dont get me wrong... I want him back in a Falcons uni... Yes.... I do thgink we could find another RB that brings what he brings to the table (darren evans ?)

I think with FA being after the draft...it hurt players like him the most. Many teams who needed running back help took a RB in the draft. Wokezone
flame me if ya want, but resign him and deal turner if we can't have both. I love having the burner on the team, but snelling has the trucking ability as well, and Can catch too! He will have a longer impact on this team than turner will. Im all for getting rid of Norwood( They call him Mr. Glass) and keeping snelling, but like snelling says he wants $$ and probably starter $$ so the question is if he wants to start do we want Turner for a year maybe 2 of production , or snelling for 4 or 5.With Snelling and Quizz we could do the GB 2 hb set with two that can actually catch. not saying we play like GB but im saying that is a really good formation thats hard to defend, with the WR talent and two Hb that can run and catch. not to mention Snelling can serve as a FB as well. GENERALZOD
I hope he remains a Falcon, but I can't blame him one bit wanting to get a big pay day. He's done all the right things, stayed quiet and got the job done. It reminds me of Michael Turner playing behind LT when he was with San Diego. Hopefully the Falcons can keep him. sdogg
Its the Tom Brady's and Drew Bree's with Demaurice Smith that are holding this thing up.

Wokezone
I do appreciate what turner does, hes a huge asset to this offense. but I dont see him long term. hes already at "the age" and with an injurys and signs of slowing down thats not a good thing. you dont wait to sell your car till the days its engine blows up, you sell it when it starts wearing down so you can get more out of it when you get your new car if that makes sense. I still dont think Snelling can be "the guy" .... I also dont see us moving turner either... The guy is still producing at a probowl level... Also... I can see us just drafting Turner replacement in 2 years or so.Turner is going on 30 but dude wasnt getting a healthy amount of PT until these last 3 years. dmo_dlo
He's in for a rude awakening if he thinks he will get big money anywhere. He's not an elite RB, not even a 1st-tier RB but a 2nd-tier one, though a good and reliable RB. No team will go after him aggressively but he will find a role as a team's 2nd or 3rd option. On top of that he didn't have a good year after the fairly promising 2009 season.
84White32Quizz
Snelling is a valuable piece in todays NFL, he can catch and for teams that have break away RB's like the Giants, Chiefs, Titans, and Eagles he provides power between the tackles. I dont think Snelling is a horse you can ride for 16 games( if needed )like Turner. Snelling imo will go to the right team and succeed IF he is a compliment to a speed RB. AtlanticFit
I think he gets money and starts else where. I hate to see him go, but I honestly believe, unlike some of you, he is capable of starting. Look what he did in the Arizona game last season. Its ironic because, hes almost in the same situation Michael Turner was in when he came to Atlanta from SD. kschreck
It's funny to hear more and more players against the NFLPA stance, yet some want to blame the whole situation on the owners. If interviews like this one don't make it clear that the two sides that have both created this mess, I don't know what will.
