THE ICEMAN
Ray Edwrds or Nnamdi Asomugha?Who would make the Falcons Defense that much better a shut down Corner or a Pass-Rushing Defensive End?This one's a tough one for me on one hand you may be able to sign a DE who's 26 and may of only had 8 sacks but was one of the most disruptive DE in the NFL(3rd) and just coming in to his prime but on the other hand you can get a guy who so good that he basically takes half the field away and when you really think about it this is an easy one because Kroy Biermann would've had any where from 7-10 sacks if we had better pass coverage he got so close so many times but just came up short (he was 19th in QB hurries/Disruptions)plus you put one of the teams best play makers in the slot in Brent Grimes who can play the middle of the field more and use his tremendous Ball skills So I'd take Nnamdi over Edwards but it's just my optionThe Falcons do have the money to sign both guys so it will be interesting to see if they do? dirtybird1989
I'd take Edwaeds, resign Brent grimes and also sign either johnathon joesph or Ike taylor. IMO that would be a great set up.
vel
Nnamdi. Our DLine needed a couple seconds. Plus, we don't know what Sid brings to the table. Nnamdi literally shuts down a whole side of the field. You don't pass on that.
markdzul
If I am forced to chose between the two, it is Aso all the way without a doubt. It would be amazing to see that defensive backfield. That would turn our average group of rushers in to a bunch of all pros... Abe would prob set a single season record for sacks...
madman88
i have a question, please tell me why do we really think were going to go after aso??? hold up first, why would we, our CBs weren't the problem last year... but anyways we have a guy we spent 50+mil on last year and another guy who just went to the pro bowl, so if we think we need another top tier cb then some ppl have really lost their minds.... we need a DE, we needed that the last threes years..... atljbo
Ill say Edwards... Edwards will cost a lot less and our CB position is not the problem.Aso would be nice... But our scheme is a lot different from the raiders... Raiders play mostly press man coverage... We dont... Not saying he cant play here but it would take some adjustment time. But again... Our island positions is not a problem.
Banned
Ray Edwards is in his prime time! Bring him home TD!
PTCFalcon
Ray Edwards and Manny Lawson (only if we can not sign Nicholas). There are going to be several corners available that will be good nickels without breaking the bank.
Tribal Chief
Nnamdi

WFColonel56
As far as I knw ATL plays more zone than man, thus eliminating the best part of ASO's game....EDWARDS
DD: Objective Elite
Both, please!
The Falcon Jedi Knight
Edwards. Having a shutdown CB doesnt stop the intermidate crossing routes and TEs. There are ways to attack a defense with a shutdown CB, but if you got a DE in your face all the time then that defends most everything. THE ICEMAN
We play a lot of Zone because are guys couldn't cover there better in a zone but when you have a guy who can go man to man that would allow the Falcons to double the Number two or who ever would be the 2nd option They would play a completely different style and could also blitz more
madman88
i would take ASO, guy shuts down half the field, we would get a ton of coverage sacks... he makes our D-Line Better!but thats not the problem IMO, who cares how good our cbs are if our LBS dnt play up to the same level... there part of coverage as well... it dnt matter how many great cbs u have, the defense works as one, if one group isnt getting the job done then the defense WILL struggle.... takeitdown
We could afford Edwards, a pretty good OLB, and a pretty good nickel for the price of Nnamdi.Or Edwards, good nickel, and Heath Miller or Deangelo Williams.

The Birds are the truth
Charles JohnsonBut what are our chances now, getting Mathias? Is the option still up? Excuse the spelling of the name.
DirtyNastyBird
but thats not the problem IMO, who cares how good our cbs are if our LBS dnt play up to the same level... there part of coverage as well... it dnt matter how many great cbs u have, the defense works as one, if one group isnt getting the job done then the defense WILL struggle....our LB didt really struggle in coverage... if u want to get down to it, our nickle corner(chris Owens) got tore up in the Playoffs. we sign ASO, grimes goes to Nickle and we have the best CB Trio in the NFL Buddy! i think we are ok at D-Line, especially the way we rotate! JOKER2
DE without even thinking about it. A nasty DE will make Grimes, Robinson (Franks/Williams/Owens) that much better. If we can tee off on QB's , our defense will look drastically different and give up less points.
TheTourettesGuy
ASOMUGHA! But if we had to take a DE I'd go with Charles Johnson, hes worlds better than Edwards
unstawpable_falconsfan88
Dunta is not shutdown corner. Not a shutdown corner, you are correct, but he thrives in a man to man coverage. If we ran a man to man outside with zones over the middle (Grimes playing nickel) it would be fun to see. Either a coverage sack or interception all day..
