In a poll on ESPN for best looking helmets in the NFL today

Helmet Rankings

Charger, Packers and Steelers are ahead of us right niow...GO VOTE...

Also they did a Retro Ranking and Falcons were #3 behind Pats @ #2 and Chargers @ #1

I agree w/ the Retros - love the Bolts,Pats and Falcons unis - probably that is a fair order as well.

I remember readin an article based on a poll from incoming players from the draft this year. Two of the questions that were asked piqued my interest.

The first was 'Where would you most like to play next year?" Falcons came in THIRD behind the Packers and Patriots.

The one that REALLY caught me off-guard is the "Who has the best uniforms in the NFL?" Falcons came in FIRST. I never thought we had the best uni's, but I think thats cause I am such a huge homer, I didn't really think about it.

Did anyone else see this article?

Nike cannot ask for design changes. they are the maker of the fabric, not the designer of the logo. that is team/nfl property.

nothing will change.

Falcons current helmet is top 10, but not near the best.

their throwback however is very nice, def top 3. (both the 66-89 red and the 90+ black/white)

The teams own the design of the jerseys and helemts, not Reebok or Riddel. Plus Nike isn't going to change jerseys every other year like they do in college...People wouldn't buy the "new" jersey every other year I'm sure. I would think sales would go down.

NIKE will have input on equipment design, with the amount of money they just paid to be the exclusive outfitter for the NFL they'll have a big say in new looks and logos and I think teams will welcome their input. The people who buy jerseys would be more than happy to buy new jerseys every year, just look at the sales figures from when Kobe changed his number from 8 to 24 or when teams introduce alternate jerseys. There's a market out there for change, I think NIKE may have major influence on teams that are looking for a fresh start in particular.

Since you say that as a statement of fact, where is it stated that they can't offer their input?

This statement was made the day that NIKE won the NFL contract... is there any doubt helmets would follow jersey designs if the owners allow it?

Nike plans to "dramatically" change NFL jerseys

Posted by Mike Florio on October 12, 2010, 2:01 PM EDT

On the day that the NFL announced Nike will replace Reebok as the league’s uniform supplier in 2012, a Nike official said changes are coming to NFL jerseys.

Nike Brand President Charlie Denson told Darren Rovell of CNBC that the change would be similar to changes that Nike has made to college football jerseys.

“We plan on changing the NFL jersey dramatically just like we’ve done with the college programs, using new thinking and the greatest technology available,” Denson said. “The NFL program hasn’t had the same type of advancement in recent years.

After years of Reebok leading the way on NFL jerseys, it will be interesting to see what dramatic changes Nike comes up with. I just hope no NFL team follows the hideous example of Oregon in college football.
