miKevicK777
as it stands now, i dont see him going anywhere unless they wanna give sid a shot.if we sign a legit FA DE that is starting material (be in the top 3 DE rotation with kroy and abe), then i think jamaal is gone. otherwise, i think he stays. markdzul
Wow, Now you have to say what kind of expectations you have for him if you are saying you still have "faith" in him........Are you still thinking he may break out and have a ten sack season as a D end (lord help you if you do).i see him here as a fill in/backup defensive end/tackle baring us upgrading the spot thru free agency as said above. FalconFanSince1970
I think he should stand on the right side of the bench. With that said, I still pray that if he still has pictures of somebody in the front office he can finally rise up and do something on the football field in his fifth year.If that happens. We goin to a Bowl. Trust me. When you get that kind of magic it usually happens.Come on Busterson. We need rest.

JRid
I'm kind of laughing at myself for saying this, but I am staying positive about JA98. He is still young, has one more year of experience, played with a lot of passion last season and is better than most people think. I know he hasn't been getting sacks and not worth the draft pick, but still he's not that bad. It is good to see that he is practicing with the team. Last year at this time he had a shoulder injury and couldn't workout.I wonder what he will weigh this season because he gained a lot last year to play more at DT, but the second half of the season I don't think he really played DT much at all if any.To be clear I'm not saying he is going to suddenly be a beast. I'm just trying to stay positive about him and see what happens.

YA THINK THE COACHES KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON'T? great post...he's stood the test of time, many have already been proved wrong just by the fact he was still on the roster in 2010. Instead of look at last years stats which is really all that matters as far as what to expect from him next year, others want to group in his raw developing years when everyone knew he was raw to obscure the picture. We all know he was raw and developing his first 3 seasons including TD, Smity and Ray Hamilton openly stating this. Last year we saw the end product which was a productive swing player. He played well last year and has developed his skills. He was productive and is versitile. He's not a proficient pass rusher at DE, but he gets penetration (especially from DT) and does disrupt. He's very good against the run.but hey, lets conflate the discussion by grouping his developing years with last year and compare him to a payer that was far more developed coming into the NFL than he was. That should tell us whether to keep him next year....ok. whatever.

Now I'll say right off the bat, I'm not his biggest fan but he plays DE and DT. While not the best in either position, he usually holds it down very well. Sometimes not hearing a guys name called can be a good thing. Davis on the other hand only plays one position, DE, and his production is very similar to JAs and he makes 3 mill this year, almost the same but he gets a free pass for some reason. I think JA98 is a good back up for both positions, keep 4 DEs and 4 DTs and JA98. We can do that even with a FA pick up. Rework his contract and keep him.
