Lets Hope Julio puts up Mike William numbers

Recommended Posts

I am saying I don't think the average fan/poster understands how to properly measure their impact. Ready made fantasy football and Madden stats which completely ignore anything but a singular stat at a time makes the average fan think he knows more than he actually does.

That, I can agree with.

Like I said before...

If the Falcons win the super bowl next year, Julio Jones can avg 10 catches per year for the rest of his career and you cant question the trade.

The problem is if they don't win the super bowl, it would be almost impossible to justify the trade.

Son please don't go there. It's grown folk talkin' over here ok.

Roddy White and Turner would be pro bowlers almost any where they played.

1. Vick trolls such as yourself are not "grown folk talkers," you are social inept morons

2. And says who? You're obviously no expert

Pace yourself when football even starts is still in serious question. I do realize as things have always gone, everytime this guy drops a pass, runs the wrong route, eats a hot dog on the sideline people will be calling him a bust.

Ok son.

If you are trying to say that Ryan elevated Roddy and Turner's play to the level of pro bowl performance, then it makes even less since to trade away two drafts for one WR doesn't it Einstein.

Well... As fate would have it.

I knew it...

I took one look and I knew it would not be long before, the wrong "type of crowd" started hanging out here. And there is time stamped evidence to prove it. SMH I guess some people just draw the wrong type of folk.

You know what 70? I'm sick of your ****. You try vainly to sound intellectual in your posts, but you we all can see that you are just a poorly educated Vick troll. You have no purpose in life other than post garbage on these boards to get a rise out of people. How sad.

I think I know what you are getting at, but I have to say. I'm not so sure that there was much talent at #27. Past pick 19 there was a drop that would have filled the 4th-7th rounds easily. Like picking Cliff Matthews. He could have easily been 4th-7th himself. Its just all clumped up for this draft here man. I hope we win the SB, but individuals don't make a team, the team does.

Huh?

MattyRattic has a PRO-BOWL WR. PRO-BOWL RB. PRO-BOWL/HALL OF FAME (1ST BALLOT) TE. And the highest paid full-back in the game.

If there is a missing piece here, it's not at the WR position, it's behind center.

And then you are still insecure to the point of having to trade 5 picks to draft another WR?

Name the quarterbacks in the league that have that kind of support.

Oh god you have to hate Matt Ryan. I mean all he has done for us is three winning seasons. lets just sign Mcnabb lmao. Dude Matt Ryan has been nothing short of amazing for our team. Its you my friend who is the problem putting all of this negativity on our team.

falcon70 is a probowl troll... Always invalid points never backed with facts. So, which team is your real favorite, huh? Sucs? Panties? Aints? Well, doesn't matter, we will scrub all of them when the season comes along. Enjoy your trolling while it lasts, until the day you eat that crow...

Whilst roddy is a legitimate top 5 talent that very few quarterbacks have, the rest is not as great as it may seem to you.As much as i like gonzalez he's not the elite player he once was, dont get me wrong he's still probably a top 10 tight end who can get you first downs buthe cant strech the field like he used to. And as good as turner is in todays nfl its more about your running backs as a group and turner and snelling alone provide mostly 1 dimension for us and the rest our receiving core whilst solid do limit our offensive capabilities i mean once ryan has to look beyond 20 yards he has either roddy white or depending on your opinion of him jenkins but he's really not that good at gaining seperation.

Oh for real? LOLOLOL.... :D

ESPN has him at 10...oh yea...looks like one more in the playoffs.

My bad though - I'm referring to 2009 regular season - he had 11. I keep thinking of 2010 as this year - probably because I don't feel like this year has started yet.

But - he had 11 in '09 and 10 in '10 for regular season TD's

I can tell you are a very good forward thinker. Buddy will have a big bull's eye on his back. Anything short of greatness will be highly scrutinized.

If he doesn't hit greatness the bull's eye will multiply and hit Ryan, MM, Smitty, Blank and TD. When you make a bold move like that it comes with the territory.

He was targeted 129 times and had 65 receptions for 50.4%. No one else on the team was targeted over 40 times - and only 3 were targeted over 9 times. Winslow only had about 3 receptions - so he's not even a factor. That's not to say he's not good - he was very good - he had a sick average per reception and 11 TD - he's an excellent receiver. That's to say that he was targeted 27.2% of the attempts made by Freeman. Clearly, he was the #1 target in Tampa. Here - we had Roddy who is Ryan's #1 target - he was targeted 179 times and had 115 receptions for 64.2%. Jenkins was targeted 73 times, Harry Douglas 53 times, Finn 31 times, and then Gonzo was targeted 92 times.I just don't see the same make-up here. I don't think Julio will get 129 targeted passes - but if he does - I hope he has a better reception ratio than Williams and can match the average per receptions.

Good point. I don't think many on this board fully understand the make up and philosophy of this team. Turner will get the majority of the snaps, followed by Roddy and TonyG. Unless there is a major shift in snap distribution Julio will have a tough time meeting the expectations that have been put on him. The Julio for five debate will trump any Vick debate ever discussed on this board. It will be vibrant.

It's indicative of how we play football in the south...I'm thinking.

JJ will NOT be the # 1 target like Williams was in TB.

Roddy is still the #1.

The #1 WR will almost ALWAYS have more targets (thus more chances) to score TD's.

You cant call the trade a boom or bust based on stats of JJ.

If he helps this team win the trade was a success.

well put and concise. stats won't tell the story. how he blocks runs routes, and basically plays football to help this club get W's will determine the success of this trade. stats will help, but julio will need to be the all around football player ATL drafted him for...not to just catch footballs.
