hawkeye
He played better his rookie year on the outside but didn't look good at the NB. Should we switch him and Grimesor just let Owens, Franks, and whoever else they bring in battle for the NB? miKevicK777
he didnt look too good last year but i was high on him beforei think his role is NB, and if he cant excel in it then he has to gobut i would give ample opportunities (not too ample) for him to make his case that last year he just had a off year
84White32Quizz
No I would leave Owens at NB, he is a young guy and if we expect him to develope into a very good NB we have to leave him there and take his lumps.People will give up on him but imo it says a lot that we got rid of Williams and didnt draft a CB. They believe in Owens to get the job done as our NB.
84White32Quizz
And another thing, we need to hope very, very badly that Owens pans out because he is a physical guy. When teams want to spread us out and still run the ball we have another physical tackler in Owens, he gives us the ablitity to take a LB off the field but bring in a guy that can still bring the wood and stick his nose in plays. phattywankenobi
Owens started showing some ability in the Tampa game 2 years ago. I think that legend grew in the offseason and the bubble burst on his over inflated stock. I think we'll see what his true value is worth this year. He has a lot of physical talent but has been slow to read and react.

metatron360
honestly last offseason the guy probably practiced mostly at r-cb many of us beleived it was a tossup between grimes and owens. there is still some question to whether grimes at nickel would be better but owens has the nickel spot and after this offseason he will either be our nickel or be a back-up starter behind d-rob or grimes. honestly i liked him at RCB as a rookie he was getting picks and laying wood but no dought grimes is the bigger playmaker. Jaymadd
I think he has the talent to play nickel, the kid is young and came from a small school, we have too many people that want instant results. The kid had talent and is a hard worker let's just give it sOme time, but I do anticipate him having to win that spot because franks is pretty talented too
ki46dinah
I've asked it before, and I'll ask it again....where has ANY coach, EVER, said they wanted to make Grimes a NB?Only people on this board have said that. The goal from the start of Grime's career(2006)was for him to become a field corner, not a nickel corner...so putting him in the slot with Owens at field corner has never been a stated goal of the franchise.I would like Owens to have another offseason to improve...because he was good his rookie season(like Jackson was), so he should get another shot...but maybe Franks could push him at the position some with a year of seasoning? We will see shortly(pending a season).
Aston Villa FC
Wow....REALLY??? Crisp Owens??? Yes cus he did a masterful job in that bengals game on the outside. Getting burnt by terrel Owens. Did you really suggest that GRIMES(our pro bowl cb) be put in the nickel for Owens...the idiot who was trying rip off the jerseys of every green bay player at the playoffs....that Chris Owens??? Please tell me I'm being trolled.

Mid-Nite-Toker
That's the 1st highlight vid of a CB where 95% of it was tackling. If that's what people see in Owens to even suggest he should be the NB/CB then bulk him up and move him to LB. Time to get D. Franks on the field, or anyone but Crisp. Crisp is a SPT only to me on this team. People want to move Grimes to NB just so that tackle only CB can get on the field? ...he!! No!. phattywankenobi
Yep exactly. He is better up at the LOS IMO.I think inside of 10 yards is where the problem would be worse. There are more short routes, more receivers crossing zones. If he knows he has the deep go I've seen the guy numerous times go toe to toe. Like I said I think his problem is all mental. On the other hand I think Grimes is best within 10 to 20 because he is an athletic freak who can adjust quick to ball. Knight of God
I honestly haven't given up on him and think that Franks is a nice compliment.http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=33582&draftyear=2009&genpos=CB

Wokezone
He is going to have his hands full trying to keep Franks from taking NB, so I would be getting my ducks in a row.

He and Franks will duke it out and that is good for everyone. No one is mentioning the fact that Julio Jones will now be opposing our corners in practice. Ya think that might automatically force some folks to get better??
SIR.BLOGS ALOT
We should make him earn a spot like grimes had to.
THE ICEMAN
I think the Falcons will sign a CB remember they've tried it with Chris Houston Bust then they tried Christopher Owens and he flopped in both games week 15 against the Saints Brees was finding him every time then Aaron Rodgers probably still give him nightmares the Falcons have had there most success with vets like Brian Williams and Dominique Foxworth it even took Grimes 2 or 3 seasons to get were he is. Ray Edwards and a guy like Jonathan Joesph would be huge upgrades and would sure up both the DL and Secondary
