Teams that have the best chance to the Superbowl:

Green Bay

New Orleans

Atlanta

Dallas (there were a different team entirely under Garrett)

Teams that have a chance but would need help/luck

Tampa Bay

New York Giants (they have developed a history of folding at the end of the season)

Philadelphia: my feelings on Philly are like the old saying "Live by the sword, die by the sword". Live by Vick, die by Vick.

Dark Horse

Detroit: just got this feeling about them

Dago, I agree with just about everything you posted, but I believe all of the teams mentioned are going to need help/liuck and I do agree about Garrett being three big difference for the Cowboys. They're my early pick to represent the NFC and naturally the Saints & Falcons don't play them this season yet the BUCS get to in week 15 at home on a Saturday night.

IMO, GB, Falcons, Saints, and Bucs are teams to beat in the NFC. Eagles=Vick will be hobbling by week 4, Giants=Overrated, Cowboys= Terrible.

top tier: eagles, packers

almost there: saints, falcons, cowboys, bucs, bears

dark horse: lions

prediction: eagles over packers for nfccg

That's a BOLD prediction for the NFCCG. You really think Vick & Co. could pull that out?

absolutely. vick is focused like he wasn't here and can be the most dangerous qb in the league. a legitimate mvp candidate. the eagles can get to the qb as well as anyone in the league. the eagles came the closest to knocking out the packers in the playoffs last year, if vick had about 1 more yard on the pass to riley cooper, or akers doesn't mess up those fgs, then there would be a different superbowl champ.

Good points but Vick is just to big of a wild card in my book. He's gonna have to have some help.

to Early to say

the teams with the best Foundation of Coaches and Players Returning have a clear advantage in this uncharted Water for the NFL

which is why I called it the too early prediction thread

I thought it would be a nice departure from the crap that has been going on for the last couple of weeks and actually get people focused on some objective football again

"objective".. really?

I object to picking the Lions to

finish well and then calling it objective.

Take a look at their offense and that defensive line and tell me they're not improving dramatically from the Matt Millen era.

care to tell us why or are you just being like most of the Falcons fans in here who spout out crap without logic, facts, or reason to back it up?

also, before you answer I suggest you go look up the meaning of the term 'dark horse'.

I swear I think the reason WFW likes these people from TATF is because they remind him of himself when he was younger. One day they will see the light too and find another team to nut ride when people start talking about their team's success

Cowboys are far from terrible

Do they have some holes to fix on defense? Absolutely.

Last years defense was one of the worst in team history. The safety position needs to be solidified and lee will inject some youth into the aging ILB corp anchored by James and Brooking.

The wheels fell off last year for Phillips and he lost his team early in the season. He was the first Dallas Cowboy head coach fired mid season.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Dallas is just as talented as any team in the league (even the almighty Falcons) and will contend in the east this season.

Anyone who says Dallas does not have more then the average offensive talent in the league is crazy.

Witten is a great TE, and the wr is blessed with lots and lots of physical tools.

Even Roy Williams who has underachieved big time since being traded for has great physical talents. And there is good depth and speed in the backfield.

If Garret can keep them focused I think they are a very real legit contender for the east.

I think it comes down between philly and Dallas for the east.

One team who also has loads of talent on offense and defense but just has not put it together are the Niners.

I know alot of people are ready to give up on Smith, but I still think he can be a good qb. and he has some weapons. Crabtree has everything needed to be a great wr ( including the personality, Gore is a good back, they have some good players on the Oline, Davis is a certifiable monster at TE as is Willis at Linebacker.

If this can Harbaugh can rally his team like his brother did the niners can be a very tough team to play.

good point. They should win the West without too much problem. They have the best defense out there. If Harbaugh can get that team playing inspired ball, they will definitely be in the mix

I think you give a reasonable assessment here Dago.

Definitely an argument can be made that GB and Atlanta are the best teams with the saints following up right behind them. So by all accounts a fair assessment.

Is THAT what he said, homer?laugh.gif

I think we all said that last year too :)

Another team in the west that I think could be a factor outside of the division are the rams.

they played both The falcons and saints pretty tough and Bradford should only get better and they still have Jackson who is still an upper echelon back.

Plus they got some really nice defensive players, like Chris Long and Baby Animal.

I could see them eaking out 10 wins.
