falconidae
Drafting Jones looks like a win now move [and a win later move as well]. Lots of reports about falcons spending lots of money in FA when it occurs. Falcons are going to have Abe, Gonzo and Turner playing at a high level for 1-2 more years, looks like they're making a push to win the title NOW.Falcons lost a 2nd and 1st rounder in the trade- sign a couple of big name free agents and they've replaced those picks with solid veterans. Get a big time pass rusher across from Abe and this D suddenly looks real good.

Tribal Chief
Y would we trade any of our "KEY" contributors? It's nothing new in the league. Everything comes down to business. Every team has to get young at some point. Fans just have to learn not to get attached to the players. Don't be surprised if your favorite player gets traded away before next years draft

No team will remain in tact from the previous year, and depending on the CBA your best CB may become a free agent and that will draw big bucks just to keep him. Yes a big time pass rusher will be a good addition (if there is even one out there), but I've been screaming that it is the secondary that needs the biggest upgrade. Two good and one garbage corner is not gonna get it done when GB or NO spreads you out in 4 or 5wr sets. The falcons HAVE to win a super bowl while those guys are here unless they work some trades to recoup some draft pics by next year and continue to build for the future, not just the now. Tribal Chief
Drafting Jones will pan out. In order to win you have to have a complete balance of throwing and passing. White and Gonzo were thrown to 3 times more than everyone else combined. With Jones, we have a actually have someone else that can stretch the field and can dominate a teams #2 CB or NB. His height, speed and strength will cause tons of mismatches.

And they apparently still like Owens and Franks.
Karst41
If we can pick up few Key FA's on Defense then we will be ready.IMOOur #1 need is a solid DE to compliment Abraham. We all know who that is.Our #2 pressing need is a veteran CB who can play either side, and will allow some rotation with Grimes at CB and or NB to addscheme diversity. Our 3rd would be if we can snag Matt Light at OT for a reasonableprice.A guy like Light would not cause a shake up on our O Line other thanBaker moving to RT and Clabo at RG.BTW RG stands for Road Grader. Also Garrett Reynolds can learn from Matt Light. The potential is there. IceFalcon
Potential guys who are traded:Jenkins, Snelling, Norwood, Clabo, Dahl, NicholasMost of these guys would be worth #2's, maybe Clabo/Snell a #1.

AtlantaFanatic
I bet they will trade Julio, you could get some good stuff for that guy, possibly even a first and second round pic next year.(sarcasm)

FalconFanSince1970
Man I hope we're still trying to win a Super Bowl after Abe, TonyG and Turner leave cause that could happen in nine months. We better have our wallet open for free agency cause we still have holes at DE, NB and OL in my opinion. And that's assuming we re-sign some of our own free agents. We have a long list (Grimes, Pete, Nic, Snelling, Weems, Clabo, Blalock, Dahl, Wildwood, Koenan and Bryant). Plus we cut BWill, Coleman and Fin. Don't forget we have another wave of free agents to deal with next year.

Regardless of what some think on this board some of your biggest competition for the sb in the nfc regularly run out on the field with 4 to 5 wrs. Somebody has to cover em...who? I remember the struggles Grimes had his first year, he's become a pretty good player.5 wideouts or 1 QB, which is easier to take down? 3 good corners or 1 good DE, which is easier to find? Agree they need more help in the secondary, but pass rush can coverage up secondary flaws, secondary can't cover up pass rush flaws nearly as well..
