Kiper gave us a C+? He is such a deek

When the CBA does get signed lets hope that Mr. Blank and TD make good on signing a DE proven pass rusher---just like he went out and got Dunta last year to help solidify the CB position---I am not worried one bit---because I know in my heart of hearts thats exactly what will happen. This owner wants to win too bad to come up short again in the playoffs.

Think about it, last year it was all about development with Dunta being added and we went 13-3---I think Arthur feels like he has done what is necessary to put some weapons back on the offense and is committed to BUY his weapons on D---when we get through this lockout.

So C+? Kiper and Dilfer and Jamie Dukes can all eat crow when they see what we will are assembling with this team---gentlemen---the best is yet to come!

Who cares what they have to say. Seriously.

Just get tired of those jag offs spewing as though we don't know $hit about football down hear in the south---wish Kiper would come to Atlanta so I could mess up that Eddie Munster hairdoo

He went on about the Saints and Tampa Bay rising etc. but squatted on our picks

What I don't get is why they're foaming at the mouth about how much the Falcons gave up to get Jones while saying nothing but good things about what the Saints did to get Ingram. The Falcons moved up to get one of the best receiver prospects since Megatron declared from near the bottom of the 1st round to the top yet gave up almost the equivalent of what the Saints gave up to move from the bottom of the 2nd to the bottom of the 1st. The only difference is that the Falcons gave up two project players which they did not need.

That's what they get paid to do man. They get paid to piss people off. If I was making 6 figures to do it, I'd do it to lol

My problem is not so much with any negative draft grades, after all this is even 10 years down the line always going to be an exercise in subjectivitiy, but my problem is with the reasoning. If for example they said i feel that atlanta is taking a risk sending a future first rounder when john abraham/tony gonzalez are nearing the end of there careers and this reduces the chances of replacing one/both of them with an elite prospect. That would be an argument that whilst not neccesarily perfect would atleast show an indication of looking at atlantas roster and current/future needs.

However most of the draft analysis seems to focus around the green bay game, which to state the obvious is one game, you cant draft because of problems in one game you lost you draft based on needs and your performance over the season and whilst the green bay was indictative of some of these problems(lack of explsoive playmakers on offense), it was not of some other issues that 'experts' have picked up from the game. The primary example being atlanta needs a zillion pass rushers( i exagerate only slightly here),when in reality throughout the course of the season our pass rush was good, especially in games where were able to blitz creatively i.e first saints game,so in essence what the 'experts' are prioritising is a secondary need( upgraded pass rush) over our primary need(more offensive weapons)

Who gives a d*ck what Kiper says. He doesnt like any pick that is higher or lower than what he had on his "big board". He spent 10 minutes reaming the Vikings for picking Ponder while Dalton was ranked higher according to Kiper, as if the Vikings should have been consulting Kipers ratings rather than the work they did themselves. I hate that guy.

well said +1---if you look at the first GB game and the 2nd one---IMHO the biggest difference is the pressure we were able to put on Rodgers. We got to him or near him a lot in the first game which was still a close game won in the last minutes---and the playoff game---well Rodgers looked like Manning eating a ham sandwhich in the pocket exposing our nickel coverage

We have to get better in the pass rush department no questions asked!!

The kudos continue to pour in for Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik as NFL fans largely veg on the couch today after three days of non-stop football chatter as if it’s New Years Day and nursing an ugly hangover soaking up college football (only Joe is enjoying the Rays).

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com is on board with all the accolades Dominik is receiving after looking over what the Bucs did the past three days.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, GRADE (A)

Best pick: Getting Da’Quan Bowers in the second round will be a huge steal if the medical holds up. I love the risk. Wow.

Questionable move: Taking Bowers. Because, then again, it could blow up in their faces.

Third-day gem: Safety Ahmad Black, the team’s fifth-round pick, is small for his position but he’s a heck of a football player. He should be able to excel on special teams as a rookie.

Analysis: For the third straight year, the Bucs hit big in the draft. General manager Mark Dominik is building something special down there. The first two picks of ends Adrian Clayborn and Bowers means Tampa Bay has used four premium picks on the line in the past two years.

Grade: A, --- http://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=47547

Yeah for you--not--hope you have decent cover guys cause we have 2 burners and an all pro TE and a bull RB to really mess you up. Losing to us twice last year really hurt huh

I think at the moment its probably harder to tell what would fix our pass rush though,i think its a case of more experience for the players we have, particuarly the likes of moore and spoon who could be useful blitzing options. This also includes franks/owens as in both the games we won against the saints and the packers the ability to send pressure from the secondary was key and i think not having not so much williams talent but is experience and game time reps did hurt us.

The only reason i would like a ray edwards or a charles johnson is because i feel like defensive end is a hard position to draft high and get immediate return in comaprison to the media pressure faced so for a perrenial playoff contender needing to replace or reduce the workload on a 10 sack guy like abe,you take a proven commodity, while continuing to develop mid round picks who are able to get away with being rotational players.

What does the bucs draft grade and commentary from joebucsfan.com have to do with Kiper and the Falcons?

You need to take crap to RC, this is TATF.

How can you give someone an A after you recognize that thier pick is a gamble sounds more like B+ B- territory to me, unless Adrian Clayborn is also going to be some huge underrated stud.

even though I agree he is an arse, you can't get mad at anyone who doesn't agree with what you did. Some were even worse like Schien's from Fox sports

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=lyvTMOpSOQU

That dude is a bigger dweeb than Kiper, He looks like he should be analyzing the 2011 USA Chess Team draft.

Do people not understand that we were 5th in the league on scoring offense and 16th in the league on total offense, we were also 5th in the league on scoring defense and 16th in the league on total defense. That means that our defense wasn't any better or worse than our offense. This guy can only say that we need defense, defense, defense. All he can say is that Jones may bust because he is a WR. Tell me the last player coming out of college that was 100% guaranteed to produce and be a superstar????

Oh my word did you just say Julio is as good oaf a prospect as the Calvin Johnson? Get real man, that's just foolishness.

Mel's world and career is the NFL Draft, the same goes for any "draft expert", when you only look at teams from one perspective you're not going to see the whole picture. TD wasn't the Exec of they year 2 out of 3 possible seasons by mistake. Draft Experts opinions aren't worth much in the long run.
