A couple of notes from Sporting News' draft issue

They rated Jacquizz Rodgers the #5 RB in the draft, giving him a third round grade. They also listed him as the best receiver of anyone at the position in this class.

The real surprise is Andrew Jackson, whom they listed as the #3 offensive guard. He was also given a third round grade.

In their rankings, the Falcons drafted the #2 WR, #3 OG and #5 RB this season. Given the amount of draft capital we leveraged for Julio Jones, I am impressed by how well day three of the draft went. Like everyone else here, I'm also surprised Cliff Matthews was available at that stage of the draft. NFL Draft Scout ranked him #148 yet we claimed him at #230. I should note that Sporting News did not list Dent, a player whom NFL Draft Scout believes is the #5 MLB in the class and the #129 overall player.

As someone who has suffered through some of the Dan Reeves drafts where the final few rounds oftentimes felt like random name generation, I am thrilled with what we did at the end, maximizing the value of all of late round picks save for the punter, a decision forced by the fluctuating state of the league right now. Overall, this feels like a win given the constraints we faced.

I'm all for a receiving RB, unfortunately Mularkey lost his screen pass pages to his original playbook. And as you all know he only uses his old, original playbook

I use draft scout a lot and they tend to be 80-85% accurate on these things. My cousin IS a scout and said the Dent is an upgrade from Adkins and could actually compete with both Nicholas and Peterson if given a chance. Wire could be odd man out.

That's the number pick which is very inaccurate at draftscout. The part about the player ranking is usually on point and fits the actual draft better than mocks.
