Tandy
Now that the lockout is back on - I am assuming this means that there will be no free for all frenzy going for the undrafted players after the draft. So - the question is - how do they handle that? Do those guys just go into limbo now waiting until after the lockout to determine if they are going to get picked up? Can the teams even talk to them? dmite
Yep they go in limbo. They have to wait until a new CBA is done. A lot of UDFAs will miss their windows of opportunity this year if this lockout continues much longer. It's usually in training camp where these guys can make a team, but with no training camp, they don't have a shot.

triggerman
i wonder if a team could "hire" these udfa's s say lawn care, security guards, janitorial, etc to get em to atl, etc. then when the cba is inked. immediately sign em.
Falcon Forever
I think that the most clever teams will start calling UDFA's during the 6th & 7th rounds. Basically telling them that they're are very interested in giving them a spot on the roster once the lockout is lifted.Basically along the same lines that a college coach recruits players to his school. But they have to working on it NOW. Because once the last pick goes in, no more phone calls

ATLFalcfan
I'm really hoping the 8th Circuit will quickly decide to lift the stay and the lockout will be off again. This could happen next week when they look again at the stay. Then I would think UDFAs could be contacted and football operations could begin again.
