Collins
Monday, April 4, 1:10 PM CT, Miller ParkBrandon Beachy, RHP VS Chris Narveson, LHPBRAVES:Beachy showed great command and poise while winning the final rotation spot in Spring Training. The 24-year-old right-hander made a surprise rise to the Majors late last year and impressed with three strong startsBREWERS:The Brewers' home opener goes to Narveson, who quietly put together a serviceable first season as a Major League starter in 2010. He ranked third on the 2010 Brewers in wins (12) and strikeouts (137).Tuesday, April 5, 7:10 PM CT, Miller ParkDerek Lowe, RHP 1-0, 0.00 ERA VS Yovani Gallardo, RHP 0-0, 3.00 ERABRAVES:Lowe extended last year's late-season success by tossing 5 2/3 scoreless innings in Thursday's victorious Opening Day start against the Nationals. He is 6-0 with a 0.99 ERA in his past six regular-season starts.BREWERS:After working Opening Day in Cincinnati, Gallardo returns home to Miller Park, where he's 20-13 with a 3.31 ERA in 42 career starts and one relief appearance. He's 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA in four career starts against Atlanta.Wednesday, April 6, 7:10 PM CT, Miller ParkMike Minor, LHP VS To Be AnnouncedBRAVES:Minor will make this start in place of the injured Jair Jurrjens. The 23-year-old left-hander, selected seventh overall in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, was slated to begin the year in the Minors to further develop his curve and change.BREWERS:This is the first spot in which the Brewers need a fill-in for injured right-hander Zack Greinke. If they stay in-house, the team could use reliever Sergio Mitre to start.Thursday, April 7, 12:40 PM CT, Miller ParkTo Be Announced VS Shaun Marcum, RHP 0-1, 5.79 ERABRAVES:No Information.BREWERS:Marcum missed his next-to-last spring start with shoulder tightness, and was uncharacteristically wild in his regular-season Brewers debut. His five walks matched a career-high and he lasted just 4 2/3 inningsDoes anyone know what Greinke's injury is? I have not heard anything about it.Players to watch this series are McClouth, Uggla and Freeman. All are hitting .200 or under so look for them to get some hits this series.Go Braves! BeachyWas wondering when McCann was goign to get his first game off.Kind of surprised that it is today though. I would think that he would get a middle game off so he would be patterned to start opening day @ home, but I guess since the last game in Milwaukee will be a day game and the home opener will be a night game he could go 4 games in a row without having a break. Lou_Dog
rough day for the braves bats. look lost at the plate.Yep. Luckily Beachy is keeping us in it and the Brewers pitcher has already thrown 80 pitches so we should get atleast a couple of innings against their bullpen.
