USAF HART
BRAVES WIN! BRAVES WIN! BRAVES WIN! (sorry had a flashback to the Sid Bream Slide in '92)
wreck02
That was a really nice opening day win. Last year was more fun but we proceeded to struggle out of the gate somewhat. IMO, today showed me this team is so solid fundamentally. They never even seemed like they were going to give it up. "Only up two runs? No big deal!"This game was never in doubt even though we only scored 2 runs and I like that, especially against the "NATINALS" who we have struggled against (in their park, no less).Good win, Bravos! K26dp
Maybe the most boring opening day game ever, but at least we got the win. Only 161 more to go.I'd rather win boring than lose exciting.
The Monarch
I can't believe I'm bitching after an opening day win, but this game shows exactly why Heyward should be higher in the lineup. The ONLY time he should ever get only 3 PAs is if the Braves are no-or-one hit.

Falconsfan567
What a great opening day win we had today! Just awesome! It may have been a little bit boring to some folks but I loved it. I'll take great a great low scoring, great pitching, great defensive game over a 10-9 slugfest any day of the week and twice on Sundays.Going back to last regular season Lowe is now 6-0 with an 0.99 ERA in his last 6 starts. Dynamite! The Nationals made a few nice defensive plays robbing our guys of hits. And what can you say about the bullpen today? Nearly perfect.Oh and a shutout in the season opener is nice. It took the Braves 42 games last year to record a shutout.

CrimsonFalcon
I love the fact that we won, but do they really have to give them a day off the second day of the season? Edited April 1, 2011 by mobilefalconfan

Guest whitestain
I'd rather win boring than lose exciting.Absolutely. It wasn't really that the game itself was boring or whatever, it just felt small I guess for an Opening Day game. My dad is a huge Braves fan and he didn't even know yesterday was opening day. I called him to ask him if he saw that Heyward a HR in his first at bat again and he was like "Oh that's cool...what date is Opening Day this year?" I just lmao. Baseball literally does everything wrong though. There was little to no promotion at all for the beginning of the season, and they only had like 4 or 5 games and half of them were in the rain soaked northeast. The people who run this sport are so incredibly incompetent that they ACTUALLY managed to make Opening Day of baseball seem like a game at the end of May. Zodiac
Dammnit I hate the opening schedule for the Braves.. who decided it wpuld be a good idea to start the MLB season on a Thursday at 12:00?Also hate the day off in between, 2nd year in a row they've pulled that.Anyways great to know that Heyward went yard again. I think he can eclispe 40 if he stays healthy.I also saw McClouth went 0-

Most teams play the first game then have an off day incase the opening game is canceled.
