This really puts our season in perspective

We only had four losses this season/post-season:

-New Orleans Saints - (Last year's Super Bowl Champs, who we also beat)

-Green Bay Packers - (In the Super Bowl, who we also beat)

-Pittsburgh Steelers - (In the Super Bowl, we lost in OT)

-Philadelphia Eagles - (NFC East champs, tough away game)

No shame in these losses. We're knocking on the door of being Super Bowl contenders. The next step to our process is being able to win these games on a consistent basis. Tough ending for us, but all things considered the future is bright.

It was a good overall year, but the way we lost in the playoffs were awful! It's what you do in playoffs that counts.

Every game counts and if they don't win in the regular season, they don't get to the playoffs. They are making good progress and will need to work on some positions before the next season. We have been assured they will address the issues and I am looking forward to seeing what they do the next season they play.

The problem is that we wasted a chance that doesn't come around very often. Not only did we have a lot of luck on our side this year, our biggest playoff fears, eagles, saints and patriots made early playoff exits. All we had to do was hold serve at home and we would likely be the favorite in the Super Bowl. Yes, we'll still be good next year but so will other teams and then there are those teams that win it all that make you scratch your head. Who knows, it might be the lions and browns in the Super Bowl next year. That's just the way it is in the NFL. We needed to take advantage of the opportunity we had, and choked it away.

Agree that the way we lost was awful, but for once in the entire time I have been a Falcons fan, the arrow is pointing up on this team, and we're only a few pieces away. There was a time that 13-3 would have been an abherration for the Falcons, and now we can come to expext winning seasons. It's a great time to be a fan, no matter how many people want to get their panties in a bunch about personnel and coaching decisions that we have no part in.

Exactly ....it was a window of opportunity that was wasted .....you don't get those every year .....

idk it seems like you are a outdoor team if that makes any sense. of course you had that winning streak in the georgia dome, but you style is so traditional. you aren't a shotgun west-coast style team, and once green bay got a big lead, you weren't used to having to ditch the run game and become pass happy.

on the other hand our team find every excuse to pass the ball 50 times a game. i just think once you become more explosive on offense and get a shutdown corner or safety you will be alright

I agree, it would have been great if we capitalized on the opportunity we had this year.

However, we have a team at hand that consistently wins. We are only losing to very elite teams. These opportunities will be coming around for us a lot in the next decade.
