Clabo / Baker

If we get an OT with our first round pick what happens to Baker and Clabo

Who becomes the RT?

Which player would be better at the RT and would Baker make a good Guard?

If we do draft a LT high, I think we should keep Clabo at RT as he has had a probowl year and move Baker to Guard replacing Dahl.

if we do take a LT, at our pick, it won't be a sure-fire day 1 starter. i think for at least 1 more year, even if we take OT with our 1st pick, Clabo and Baker are the starters. That said, Baker won't stay on the field for all 16 games, so the rookie would probably get to start at least a couple of games, hopefully later in the year so he has had plenty of practices under his belt. If he does turn out to be really good protecting Ryan's blind side, he probably takes over LT and Baker moves over to replace Clabo.

thank you for injecting some logic in here.

this isnt madden. a guy doesnt get an 80+ grade just because he is drafted in the first.

Baker will start camps as our starting LT, unless we bring in a UFA LT. period.

IMO, we will re-sign Clabo (or tag him) and draft a LT in the first 3-4 rounds to groom behind Baker.

IMO, by the time we pick #1, if for some reason we decide to go for a LT....(anything taken 3 rounds or later would not even be an upgrade over Reynolds IMO ) ....this guy right here may actually be the best pure LT in the draft, from a pass protection standpoint. This guys strong suit is lateral quikness and handling speed off the edge, but he is not a road gradeing run blocker ....projected as a true NFL LT ...he prolly be there when we pick ...

Demarcus Love OT - Arkansas - Best lateral quikness of any in the draft .Consistently shuts down speed rushers . A natural LT ....
