Gotta stroke those Patriots all they can.

Also just noticed, SUH is out for the NFC, Maybe Babineaux can finally get his due?

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker and offensive tackle Matt Light have been selected to the Pro Bowl, it was announced Wednesday.

2011 Pro Bowl

(Jan. 30, 2011, 7 p.m. ET on FOX)

Welker and Light will replace Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, who's scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle, and Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jake Long, who was bothered by shoulder and knee problems for much of the season.

Welker had 86 catches for 848 yards in 16 games this season after returning from a serious knee injury suffered in the 2009 regular-season finale. Light, a 10-year veteran, was chosen to the AFC team for the third time.

An NFL-high eight Patriots have been selected to play in the Jan. 30 game in Honolulu, including quarterback Tom Brady, guard Logan Mankins, nose tackle Vince Wilfork, linebacker Jerod Mayo, rookie cornerback Devin McCourty and safety Brandon Meriweather.

Also not playing in the Jan. 30 game is Detroit Lions rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who will have shoulder surgery Monday.

Lions general manager Martin Mayhew announced Suh's operation late Wednesday afternoon. Mayhew wouldn't say on which shoulder doctors would operate.

Suh, who led all rookies this season with 10 sacks, said he's having surgery to make sure he's "100 percent healthy" entering the Lions' offseason program. He said he still plans to attend the Pro Bowl.

We will not have any players in the Pro Bowl - we'll be busy.

the numbers still count though. I dont think either of the teams will have players in the pro bowl (Falcons/Patriots)

The players are still credited as being a pro bowler for the year though.

Could be a great year to be an alternate!

Don't we want to win the superbowl? And have 53 represented in it instead of 7,8 or 9 in a pro bowl that most of ya'll bash on and hate year in and out..

Yeah.....I couldn't possibly care less about the Pro Bowl.

In fact, I think it would be better if the Falcons could win the Super Bowl with no Pro Bowl players.

When you get to the Pro Bowl, your price tag for your next contract goes waaaaaay up.

So there is a negative that goes along with having all those Pro Bowl players reach that status.

The one thing that keeps me voting is that it also builds their resume for the HoF.

Pro Bowl is in Hawaii

oh, was last year just a one year wonder with it being in the same place as the superbowl?

I thought they moved it the week before to be packaged with the superbowl to gain interest and ticket sales?>
