Jerry Richardson:

Recommended Posts

In a despicable move that reeks of desperation, Richardson announces that John Fox won't return next year.

DUH!!?? Is this supposed to give a bunch of no-talent players the motivation to go out and send their coach into the sunset with one last victory??

Stupid, classless; everything you'd expect from the Pantie organization.

Sorry your last game has to be a blowout loss, Foxy. And sorry your boss is such a turd

Not only did they fire Fox, but they fired his entire coaching staff.

Not one will return next season.

The Panthers are playing thier first pre-season game of 2011. It's gonna be like try-outs.

Fox nor his coaching staff have been fired. Fox is at the end of his contract and has shown nothing in two years that warrant an extension. His coaching staff will not have their contracts renewed either because they are part of Fox's regime. It's not plausible to bring a new HC in and tell him he can't bring his own people in because you're loyal to the former coaches staff that helped you suck. Chances are the new HC will interview our current DC, RB coach, etc... and have the front office give them a new contract.

So this beggs the question.....

Do you think this firesale in Charlotte is to

A) Reduce costs in the event of a lockout

B ) Reduce costs to make the team more attractive for purchase

C) Both A and B

There is NO way in this universe, this galaxy, that I could care LESS.

What those turnip farmers do over in NC is totally irrelevant to the civilized world.

Considering the fact that Richardson is one of the main owners leading the talks in regards to the CBA, I'll say no. He is using his franchise to set an example to the players/owners. It probably didn't work out as well as he had hoped since we're on the verge of a 2-14 season. He is getting his team ready for a lockout. Trying to make sure that his franchise comes out of the lockout in very good condition compared to some of the other teams.

Yeah, uh, when your job ends because the organization is "moving on"....yeah that's fired.

If they were "moving on" and taking you with them that's a different story but that's not the case here. Still don't understand why they didn't wait like 3 days....

The only way his team will be any better off than other team might be is there will be less money coming out of his pocket. If you think that he is looking out for the team or the city in any way, you are way off.

The Panthers always come out and play us well. Don't worry about it.

They only did this to give the Panther fans and Saint Anger a little hope. Hope that will be hopelessly smashed by 1:30 tomorrow.

GO FALCONS!

GO BUCS!!!!

RISE UP!!!!

C'mon - admit it - wouldn't it be cool to have 3 NFC South teams in the playoffs at one time? Awesome Division we are in now - and now the Panthers are about to regroup and get on track.

This will be the greatest Division in football soon!

The South is going to Rise again!!!!

It's the tale of two Jerry's.

Jerry Jones will mortgage the farm to bring in a high profile coach, because he wants to (a) win the SB now, and (b ) sell a lot of tickets. He probably won't stick with Jason Garrett, but will try to land a Cowher or Gruden or such.

Jerry Richardson is as cheap as a 4 dollar suit. All he cares about is saving money. With the advent of coaches like Mike Smith, John Harbaugh and even Sean Payton, he has seen where a "no name" coach can come in for very little money and make a huge difference. That's what he's hoping for. He is simply not going to pay Fox what he deserves to stay on and coach. By announcing now, he does give some of the teams who will be looking for a new coach to throw Fox into their mix. Other than that, announcing Fox's departure at this point helps no one but Scrooge Richardson.
