THIS week is the one that matters

We need 2 of 3 to clinch home field. Who else gets in and who we play we can't control. But we can control our own destiny.

So let's look at it this way. Is there ANYONE on this message board who thinks we could possibly lose to Carolina, at home in the dome, with the #1 seed on the line? Not me. I've seen enough of this team to know that we would find a way to win that game, even if we lost 5 starters.

So that means by all measure of rationality if we win Sunday in Seattle we will have the #1 seed. Winning also takes some of the critical nature off the MNF division game. We can "hold back" some potential schemes for the playoffs, maybe go a little more vanilla against the Saints, and it won't matter.

THE NEXT GAME (as it has been all year) is STILL the most important one we face.
