Deacon 13
A win is a win boys. Feels good to run this state even in a down year.Time to hit the recruiting trail, win some recruits, win the bowl game and go into the offseason with a flair...Are the Dawgs playin' their bowl game in San Francisco? Reeves
A win is a win boys. Feels good to run this state even in a down year.Time to hit the recruiting trail, win some recruits, win the bowl game and go into the offseason with a flair...Our coaches and our players put everything they had into this season. No one - fans, players, and especially coaches - is happy with how this season went but it's absolutely not correct to say they didn't put the best we had out there. Jamez is correct, we need to go recruit ELITE athletes on both O and D, get everyone more comfortable in the system(s) and get ready for 2011. A win is a win. We've lost games when we looked better than we did tonight so I'll this win and love it. Edited November 28, 2010 by sreeves324
Deacon 13
OK just scored again. Last 3 plays....3 TDs. They are allergic to Defense in Oklahoma too. Edited November 28, 2010 by Deacon

Reeves
Now you're making me feel even worse about this win. I'm not into justifications/rationalizations when things aren't working.I think it's clear that S&C needs a shake-up.I think it's clear Searels needs to get his act together and coach our boys up.I think it's clear that our backs are good, not great and we NEED Crowell.I think it's clear that we didn't have all the pieces for the 3-4 but we did have some.I think it's clear that our offense is deadly at times but very inconsistentI think it's clear that Murray is going to be a STAR. All-American? Very possible.I think it's clear that the future is looking up.Go Dawgs!

Reeves
The former would solve the only problem with the latter.Agreed.Our o-line talent is upgrading and if we can get them as strong as possible, our O could be much more consistent than it currently is, which would be huge in games like tonight. Gritzblitz 2.0
I think that Bobo, Garner, and the strength and conditioning coach are gone after this season.Richt is next unless there is significant improvement. 7-5 gets him fired next season. He needs a better year than that. Edited November 28, 2010 by sreeves324

That's the area that's sorely lacking right now.Next season is a 12 game audition for Richt. If he does no better than 7-5, he's gone. Believe it. According to our rankings we do recruit ELITE athletes, but its still not working. I understand our D is a work in progress till we get the right guys in, but it seems like we should have done better tonihgt then we did...but I don't know, I'm just still frustrated with the performance tonight, I'm sure I'll calm down in the next few days but its just we were so close to losing tonight and going into the game it seemed like it SHOULD have been a blown out....but it is a in state rivalry game and it never a guarantee in games like this. This team has drastically cut down their penalties and turnovers from last year and even improved from 2 years ago; your second comment is a great way of phrasing it and I think you're right. Richt just needs to produce and next year is REALLY vital to Richt's future at Georgia. I hope he dominates.
popcornplaya
I think they definitely fire Bozo, I mean Bobo. If Garner stays, it's because of his recruiting only.

He has done a very fine job coaching the DT's and a lot better than any fairweather fan will give him credit for this year with the d-line... and he is great at handling the recruiting. Putting Garner on the chopping block is severely searching for a scapegoat.Plenty of people have plenty of issues with Bobo, but honestly it is doubtful he gets fired. We just had a redshirt freshman QB toss 24 TDs in a season... one short of the school record, which he will own after the bowl game (along with total TDs in a season). Also, Bobo is great in recruiting and has proven to be a great QB coach.
DefenseWinzCliche
If Richt fires Bobo, he should just save face and quit. I mean, almost none of his coaching staff would be guys that he's groomed. And he didn't fire Bobo when the offense was way lower than what was expected, but he's going to fire him when a freshman QB has maybe the single greatest year for a UGA QB...ever? Greene and M. Stafford as a RS Freshman. If Murray hadn't played as well as he did our record would have been below .

I'm not wishing Garner gone, but I'd be a lot less upset about his leaving than I woulda been a few years ago when he was always being pursued by other teams. UGA averages 31 points a game this year. And 29 last year. If they had a middle of the pack defense they would have probably had a great record the last 2 years. There have been plenty of highly touted guys at every program who never put it all together. Georgia is not unique there. We have honestly missed on many players in recent years. Guys who just never could 'get it' like plenty of guys 'got it' before them. I think the caliber of person, not just player, in the people we are bringing in this year is a lot higher than it has been lately. IMO it seems like Grantham, Belin, and Lakatos are far far better at evaluation than our previous staff.
