It's really stunning. Matt has played to perfection since the bye. Roddy already broke 1000, and Turner is having a great season. We are stuffing the run, and have our issues in the Secondary, but no worse that Green Bay, Giants, or Baltimore have had. It's absolutely absurd how the media is overlooking us. I like being under the radar, but it's frustating to watch NFLN or ESPN, or go to the major sport sites and get no coverage when we have the best record in the league.

Same b!tching and moaning threads week after week about the same 'ol stuff.

As slamee said, who cares if every analyst out there is not on the Falcons bandwagon? To go even further, why does it matter if we're on or off anyone's radar?

We're 8-2 and a great football team up to this point regardless of the lovers and "haters" of this team.

Will your life be that much more fulfilling if everyone is performing verbal felatio on our team?

To quote the ESPN crew that you all love so much, C'MON MAN!

I mentioned this in another thread...I think we're getting plenty of love. You guys are just focusing on the negative. So what if everyone is not on the bandwagon.

I agree. We are not in the news because we don't have players crying like babies and throwing their pads into the stands like Vince Young. And I would like to keep it that way.

I think we are getting some love on TV, for what it's worth. I don't need a talking head to say we are awesome to make me feel better about this team. I already feel great about this team, nobodys opinion is going to change that. Key word, opinion. That is what these 'experts' are giving. They are entitled to it, but I don't have to listen to it.

Doesn't really matter, we're not really a flashy team and people aren't too interested in us. New York Jets are in New York so they're going to get attention and Patriots are proven winners so they're going to get attention. Let's just keep winning and eventually they won't have a choice but to talk about the Falcons.

It's funny. For how many weeks did we hear about the lucky miss by the Saints against us in OT, but the Jets have some incredible luck 3 weeks in a row and now they are world beaters. Good thing none of ESPN's opinions mean jack squat in the grand scheme of things in the NFL.

hartley missed a 27 yarder yesterday against the seahawks.

fluke? not if it keeps happening.

Part of the fun and joy of being good and a fan of one of the better teams in the league is getting the national media coverage and rose petals thrown at your feet every week.

As fans, we constantly have to watch other teams like the Jets, Giants, Eagles, Pats, Colts and others get praised and reviewed on the TV shows and get the primetime games in front of a national audience.

We have been conditioned to believe that this comes with the fruits of good labor. Well the Falcons, year-to-date, have labored as well as any other team in the League, and a few of us would like to reap the fruits of that good labor.

Even if it's only just a little recognition for our good work. It's one thing for us to be ignored when we're mired in mediocrity, but it's frustrating as all get out when we have the best record in the conference and we're still being ignored.

Now in the grander scheme of things, does any of this matter if we go on to finish the regular season 14-2 en route to a SB appearance; not at all.

But it would be really sweet to have a little fun along the way. B)

Flying under the radar is a good thing. We aren't having any issues of discord on our team. We just go out and get the job done. Nothing sexy.

Let the media talk about whomever they want to. We just need to take care of our business on the field. I can guarantee you however, that if we beat GB we will get some love.

It's just funny that first we had to go on the road and beat the Saints to prove our legitimacy; then the Eagles (which we lost); then the Bucs; then the Ravens; now the Pack.

Sigh.

We are one of the most consistent teams in the league and we don't beat ourselves. We don't commit turnovers and save for the first possession of yesterday's game, we don't commit stupid penalties to kill drives.

The offense is clicking like never before, even if we did struggle in getting in the endzone -- so did the Eagles yesterday, and at least the drives resulted in points.

The defense, while it never feels that way when you're watching them, allowed 10 first quarter points, but only seven in the final three quarters of play and held the Rams' offense to one-of 10 on third down conversions. That's a really good effort.

This team has yet to peak, and they get better every week. Special teams coverage is still suspect, but the coaches make sure the players realize that certain aspects still need to improve before we get to where we want to be.

Yes we are good but you also have to impress which in the media's eyes we aren't doing that. You can say that it's better to go under the radar but really it isn't. with exposure that leads to more national games so the that fans that don't live in our area can enjoy watching games on tv instead of streaming them on there computers.

You can have all the wins in the world but if you do it in a bland way as we do it gets glossed over by teams like the packers and eagles do to their playing style. If you were a casual football fan what would you pay more attention to a game if a team has big plays for tds than one where they methodically go down and score on a 12-15 play drive and waste half the game on 3-5 yard plays at a time.

We may not be exciting to watch if your not a fan of the team but at the end of the day if we make it to the super bowl it wont really matter since that's what they play for to begin with.

SPOT ON. What whiney pusses, it doesn't seem to matter how well things are going. They just have to find something to cry about; No love/respect, the media, Vegas odds, the league, Atlanta fans... all of which have nothing to do with the team's play itself. Must be a castrated bunch or worse.

After reading this thread, it made me think. Everyone knows that Dallas, Eagles, Patriots, Giants, etc. are large market teams. They get the majority of the coverage, even when they are doing poorly.

Now I am not saying the Falcons are a small market team, I think we are in the middle of the pack from the statistics I saw on this board. However, how are the Falcons and other teams that aren't the large market teams supposed to grow if they get no media coverage when they are doing good? I mean that is how a teams market grows by getting national games, media coverage, etc. It just seems like the large market teams keep getting stronger with all the coverage, while the smaller market teams can't even get any coverage when they are winning. How can their markets grow without coverage?

Now I agree with everyone, that I like flying under the radar. But this thought just came up when I was reading this thread.

I get what you are saying, but everything revolves around winning, winning and a little more winning.

The more you win on a CONSISTANT basis, the more love you are going to get. Before the Pats started this dynasty, I NEVER heard squat about them. Since they have been winning for a decade, they are always talked about.

Of course, there is always the negative side of coverage as well. But I would like to think we don't want any part of it. B)
