Sidbury

i doubt it w/ Abe playing.

He did absolutely nothing in his 'start' yesterday.

Anderson is having a good season, as is Davis. So there is no need for him.

I will say, if he is inactive in his 2nd season, things are not looking up for him. At this rate i wonder if he will be on the team next season? A pass rusher usually finds snaps at some point, even if they are raw. Look at Beirmann as a rookie. Just as raw a prospect as Sidbury.

I could see him getting on the active list if Walker is out, since Anderson will likely be more of a DT this week then.

Does Sidbury get on the active roster this week? Could we afford to put him on the field and leave a DT on inactive list?

But they are already keeping DT Trey Lewis on the inactive list each week.

They are carrying 5 DEs and 5 DTs on the 53 man roster this year but only keeping 4/4 active on Sundays

If you go on the NFL.com website and watch the "Lockerroom MVP" series of videos, he always had an attitude and looks distanced. Even after big wins, he has no enthusiasm. My guess is he's just collecting a check and can't wait to get somewhere else. If you want to see what I'm talking about, start with this video; the amazing win over the Ravens. He's got a gray shirt on to the right.

I think yesterday's game answered some questions about Sidbury. He didn't get one defensive snap even with Abe not playing. Towards the end of the game our DE's looked tired and the Rams drove right down the field on pass plays. I kept waiting to see Sidbury go in, but it never happened. We were not getting good pressure, we were missing a DT(Walker), DE's were tired and getting more snaps than usual, Rams were mostly passing, and Sid never came into the game.

I honestly couldn't believe he didn't come in and for him not to come in says the coaches do not believe in him at all. He didn't even come in when we were up 34-17 with time running out and the Rams passing on every down.

I really don't expect Sidbury to be active again this season unless we have an injury to a DE. I was really looking forward to seeing Sidbury get some snaps and improve this season, but something is definitely not right with him.

Maybe he doesn't like being on camera in a locker room, who knows?

Anyway, as someone has stated its pretty telling that he didn't get that many reps even when we were up with the lead in this game or that Coach went with Anderson over him to begin the game.

thats true...Lewsi could be active over Sid as well if Walker is out. Lewis has shown more to this point.

I am still surprised, since Sid showed real well in pre-season. Something we havent seen is going on for sure.

That's what I'm thinking. To me every time he's played, he's made an impact. I understand he's probably a liability against the run. But still, in obvious pass situations he should be getting snaps. If he's not, then there's another reason that we aren't seeing. Maybe he hasn't learned the playbook, maybe he has a crummy work ethic. Maybe he slacks off in practice. Maybe he's hitting the town all night and the management doesn't think he's taking it seriously. Who knows...?

But I've learned over the last three years to TOTALLY trust the judgement of the staff in regards to personnel. If Sid ain't playing yet, there's a darn good reason. And eventually, we'll know why.

Well, here ya go:

"Originally, Lawrence Sidbury was announced as the starter instead of Anderson. It would have been the first career start for Sidbury, a fourth-round draft pick in 2009.

But instead Atlanta coach Mike Smith went with Anderson, a fourth-year player and a former starter. Chauncey Davis also saw an expanded role in Abraham’s absence, working in on passing downs."

Still doesn't say why, but som'n is up.

I would'nt be to quick to write off Sidbury as yet.Its tough to get a snaps when all our DE's are playing so well.I'm more worried about when Weatherspoon will be active. Also its good to see JA98 find his niche also he has been a solid contributor all year and Chauncey Davis has shown up in the last 2-3 games also.
