SetzerFalcon
I love the way the Falcons just completely dominate time of possession. It is such a subtle, unheralded strategy but it works unbelievably well. Did you see Turner's TD to end the game? The Rams D basically stood and let him waltz by them. They were completely and totally gassed. It's not "sexy" and it doesn't lend itself to Sportscenter highlight reels but holy cow is it ever effective. Dedsquirl
No doubt. When it is clicking, it cuts the game in half. Our D is still developing. So when the other team is only getting the ball 6 or 7 times a game, it is huge.
DownvoteDon
I love it, too. I don't mind the SF blocked punt for TD, the Cardinals 88 yard TD run, or even the Rams 3 play TD drive in the 3rd quarter today. If they are going to score, let them score fast. It makes Turner that much more effective at the end of the game . . . BTW, once Turner got through the front 7 (and picked up the first down) the Rams WANTED him to score. It was the only way they could get the ball back
dmite
It's how we can beat explosive offenses... keep them on the bench.
TorontoFalcons
Yea I love, how the falcons can control the game like this. Doing this just tires out the defence. One minor defensive mistake and there goes turner for a 39 yard touchdown.

That said, they were still fairly obviously exhausted and I'm still a big fan of the strategy we've been employing this season.

No conversion and they have the opportunity -- slim though it was -- to score, convert, onside, score and convert again. The conversion rained on their parade. I'm really not too sure if that's what they were thinking or not, I doubt they'd admit it either way.
TeamPlayer1
Time of possession reveals the best team although turnovers will usually mean that the "best" team doesn't always win!
