BankerBird™
Danny AmendolaThis guy was very impressive yesterday in the Rams loss to the Niners. Reminds me a lot of Wes Welker. He has speed, is an excellent route runner and he specializes at getting CBs to bite on routes where he makes double and, sometimes, triple-moves. The guy needs to be a priorty as far as the Falcons defensive game plan, right along with shutting down Jackson and getting pressure on Bradford.Like Welker is to Brady, Amendola is a "security blanket" for Bradford, and is the first option on check-downs and dump-offs. Add to that the fact that the Rams love to run screens, we need to keep this guy Amendola in check.Thoughts?
ATLfanatic
ban "Get it down the field Matt" for using CoC words, lol. To answer your question though, they'll probably take a page out of Philly's and Balitmore's playbook by doing some reverse plays until we prove we can stop it. Knowing our coaching staff, I'm pretty sure that's an issue they're bringing up this week
BenB321
I would recommend that William Moore lay him out but Rich McKay and the Competition Committee have outlawed big hits even though he wants the players to play two more games.Do me a favor Rich work on contracts and serving coffee and doughnuts to Mr. Blank, TD and Coach Smith and keep your nose out of the actual game of football. NCFalconfan
I don't know much about him, but I can say that I NEVER like to face Stephen Jackson. Guy is a beast.

Sounds like Brian Williams will have to match p on him. I hope his knee is OK.
HouseofEuphoria
I've got this guy on one of my fantasy teams.A 20 person league. 20 people makes it really, really difficult to field a great (or even a good) team every week, but in Amendola, i have found a fantasy diamond in the rough. He's been playing well, and has helped me to an 8-2 record this season on a team with a bunch of no-names and low-profile players. Watching his highlights, i have been very impressed.Stephen Jackson should be top priority, but Amendola will require some attention every time he steps on the field.Sometimes the most dangerous players are the ones you've never heard of. Once they make a name for themselves then everyone will be talking about them. Amendola wont be an unknown anymore after this season. I hope his knee is OK.Well, whoever ends up on him will need some healthy knees - and ankles - because I'm telling you, Amendola is the spitting image of Welker in how he runs routes. Dude is quick, shifty, and is speedy after the catch. He's the perfect WR for running reverses and slants, which I think the Falcons defense will see plenty of on Sunday. What concerns me is what happens on the other side of the ball though. They have James Hall and Chris Long at DE. They are a combined 13 sacks and 6 Forced Fumbles. I think stopping (or slowing down) those two will be necessary for our offense to get things going.
dmite
One thing that interested me about the Rams is that Bradford threw the ball about 20 yards down the field to Stephen Jackson near the end of the game.
AF89
I think this is just the sort of guy Grimes was born to cover if we're willing to put him at Nickle on 3 WR sets.(Assuming Amendola lines up in the slot.)

I still can't believe Amendola is actually in the league (although I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the success Welker has had). He's a security blanket for Bradford because Avery and Clayton aren't playing.Amendola is a nice player, and like Welker, he'll catch absolutely everything thrown to him and will never put the ball on the ground. However, his ability to get open out of the slot is nothing like Welker's and he's easier to bring down.
