atljbo
I see us grabbing a athletic TE somewhere in the draft... We stole a really cool play play from the Texans but you need a an athletic type TE to run it... It isolate an TE on a LB in man coverage... We've tried to run that play a couple of times with Michael Palmer... If he got to the spot both would have been a TE both he is just not that athletic type guy to run that play with.I know we have checked out Florida Atlantic 6'5 240lbs TE Rob Housler... He is a 4th or 5th round pick... A very athletic TE
KSFALCON
Lance Hendricks is my favorite...but will probably go first, if Rudolph doesnt come. He has good hands and is a good blocker.Others worth a look - DJ Williams, Virgil Green, Wesley Saunders

Rai
Lance Kendricks and Kyle Rudolph are the best. Rob Housler has some seriously good development potential, needs to bulk up. Zack Pianalto is pretty good too, going to drop because of injuries though.

#1 pick
Kyle Rudolph is going in the 2nd round. Teams are no longer passing on talented guys who missed a season due to injury anymore.

KSFALCON
I agree with you.Oh okay...If does go in the late 1st and falls to us, I dont want him...not because of him, just because TE is not an immediate need if we resign Tony, who still has some years left...If Lance Kendricks is available in the 3rd, thats the only guy I would want that high, I think 4th or later is when we will draft one

KSFALCON
agreed. I haven't looked at Kendrick yet though. He is pretty good, he has good hands...some say he is undersized, but he is a great run blocker...like him a lot, esspecially if he is trained by Tony Gonzalez
gritzblitz
I agree in the fact that more than likely we will draft a TE that is a pass receiving threat this year. It is interesting to see how NE is utilizing 2 young talented TEs.

gritzblitz
Yeah, Pats always want draft picks...what would u give for Hernandez?Good question. The short answer is that NE would probable want too high of a draft pick for him that unfortunately I would not want to make. Reasons: NE has 2 picks in Rds 1-3 all ready, probable not interested unless we knock their socks off with trade offer; they are in the drivers seat in this trade scenario which I would not like.NE probable would not want to make the trade considering the way their offense is built & he is a promising young TE talent.I'm not even sure our late 2nd Rd pick would entice them which is too high in my books...because we will be picking late; its almost like a early 3rd. Coming into the draft Hernandez was considered 3rd-4 th Rd grade; he was 1st TE to be selected in 4th Rd. Now that he has proven himself a valuable commodity, I don't think NE would accept a our late 3rd Rd pick for him so that is why our 2nd is the best we could offer which I wouldn't want to make & I imagine they would not want....NE did not get to where they are by making unfavorable trades; they usually trade when when they win. We would have too offer a combination of picks, roster players or both; not sure who on our roster I would give up that they would want.Personally I would rather go for a similar style TE, mid round in this year draft; someone like Houser, Oordt or maybe even V Green from Nev. In last years draft which was a good draft for TEs, 3 TEs were taken in RD 3 and 4 were taken in Rd 4. Houser would be a great pick if still around when we pick in 4th Rd...but more than likely he will be gone. At this point Oordt would be my next choice maybe in Rd 4 or 5. gritzblitz
Schuylar Oordt I like him as well; 3 inches taller, same weight and about same speed as Hernandez in NE. Hernandez went in mid-4th Rd in last years draft. A draft that was pretty good for TEs. When do you think Oordt will come off the board? When do you think Oordt will come off the board?About 5th or 6th because of the small school status and not a position that is highly sought after. But I've been keeping up with him since the summer very interesting prospect. Might need to gain about 5-10 lbs to be a complete player but would definitely draft anytime in the 5th or later. He certainly worth keeping an eye on; initial look is he seems to be a wort while pick in 5-6th Rd.
