Farmer2
As some of you may remember, I was the lucky recipient of a free ticket to last nights game, compliments of FalconFanSince1970. I've been to a few Falcon games, but never in Atlanta. Man, was that a great game for my first trip. It was definitely worth the 8 hour drive each way. For those of you who haven't been, you really need to find a way to go!!When I stepped off the MARTA and saw the dome and tailgating crowd for the first time, it was like coming home for the first time. It was the first time I've ever been surrounded by Falcons fans. I met a guy named Felix, and tailgated with his crew for a couple of hour before meeting up w/ FFS1970. It was a great time, but not sure I really needed the two shots of 1800, considering I was driving back to Indy after the game. Luckily, I had plenty of time for it to wear off. Once inside the dome I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Watching warm-ups was worth the drive down. We had awesome seats. Obviously, you guys all know how the game went. With 1:05 left, I'm thinking, well it was still a great experience, but it would've been nice to win. Then Matt Ryan did his thing. It was also really cool for me to see Deion being inducted into the ring of honor. I know many disagreed w/ him being in, but for me it was cool to see b/c Deion is the reason I'm a Falcons fan. I've always lived in Indiana, and was drawn to Deion from Sportscenter highlights as a kid. Too bad I tore up all my Deion memorabilia after he went to the 49ers. Anyway, I couldn't have asked for a better trip. Matt Ryan played out of his mind. I thought Mularkey called his best game of the year. The people I met were great, and I've got a new friend in FFS1970. I'll see you up in Indy next year, and the tickets are on me. Thanks again for a trip I'll never forget!! FalconFanSince1970
Dude you are a freakin iron man.Folks this man woke up yesterday, drove eight hours, caught a Marta train, tailgated for two hours, watched an hour of warm ups, sat through an intense game, caught another Marta train, drove eight more hours and jumped on the message board. That is Falcon love folks. If there is a hick'ry stick award for fans, Farmer2 gets my nomination for this week.Bro I had a ball. I have to admit I was worried after Flacco hit Heap right in front of us. I looked over at you and you seemed to be hyperventhilating. I said to my myself, Lord please don't let this man have to drive eight hours after a painstaking loss. Right after I said Amen I looked up and dam if Ryan didn't hit Jenkins with a desparation Chicago 2008 style looper. I knew we would win at that point but I thought it would be with a winning FG. Ryan and Roddy willed us to one of the greatest Falcon victories I have witnessed. Good times my man. Good times. We'll do it in Indy next year! Get some sleep bro. BCEagleATLFalcon
BTW, thanks to the Falcons. I made the 8 hour drive home on pure adrenaline.I hear ya! I had to pull an all-nighter for grad school, and the Falcons were all that kept me awake. Every time I got sleepy, I replayed the winning touchdown and snapped back into it. :P AWESOME story, and thanks for sharing. So cool that you were there for such an amazing win. +1 for being the type of fan that I'm sure players love to play their hearts out for! papachaz
plus one to you both. I don't know what prompted FFS1970 to provide the ticket, but TRUST ME, to give this dude his first Falcons home game is indeed nothing but pure class and selflessness

DD: Objective Elite
What an awesome thread, I find it hard to believe this happens on other teams MB. FF70 what a great gift to give a true Falcon fan, their first game in the dome.I have made that same trip, 74E to 75S down to Atlanta, this year was my 5th trip and 1st Falcons win(Bengals). I'm happy that you got to drive back with a win, on many levels.
