Bucs vs. Falcons

So I got to see the Falcons play live for the first time since they beat the Saints. I saw the NFL Replay of the Bengals game but they cut out most of the replays and it's on the replays that you learn a lot about what happened. So here is my thoughts.

Matt Ryan played great. He looked poise in the pocket just like the guy I remember watching in 2008. He moved around in the pocket to avoid pressure when he needed to but never took his eyes with him and still was able to make good solid throws on the move. Sure he missed a couple of passes but every QB does. The play that caught my attention the most was a scramble play he had. He pumped faked, and looked and moved and kept looking down the field to find someone to throw to. It wasn't till the last possible second that he finally ran and picked up a couple of yards.

I loved the deep bomb to Michael Jenkins. The throw from Ryan drifted a bit to the outside shoulder (had that not happened it would have been an easy touchdown) but Jenkins made a great adjustment to the ball and made the catch.

Michael Turner looked absolutely awesome. Just unreal! He was powering over guys right from the start of the game. It usually takes Turner a little bit to get going but he came out the gate strong and kept it up the whole game.

The defense needs to tackle better. It took way too many 3rd and 4th defenders to finally bring down the Bucs defenders.

Dunta Robinson was awful. That touchdown he gave up to Mike Williams was just disguisting. Really poor effort on his part.

Jamaal Anderson was awesome. He was constanting making tackles in the backfield and deserves a ton of credit for that goalline stand.

The special teams was beyond horrible! Absolutely deadly. The Falcons really dominated this game offensively and defensively yet we almost lost because of special teams. It wasn't a matter of guys getting out of their lanes on kickoff coverage. The guys were there to make the plays they just flatout didn't get it done.

Overall I'm happy the Falcons are 6-2 and have won both division games so far but there is a lot of room for improvement. That has me stoked! That we can be in this good a position and have yet to put together that complete dominating game (outside of maybe the Cardinals game). If that ever happens than we can beat anyone anywhere. B)

Good stuff bro totally agree. However Dunta looked like once he got beat on the inside he just laid down instead of giving chase. I'm still curious why he plays so far off the ball and if you look at at Grimes he seems to read and react by coming up on his man at the line and then maybe backing off. Your thoughts?
