egoprime II
Our D might catch some criticism for allowing that long TD by Williams, but look at it like this...the Falcons D allowed 14 points. Thats championship caliber and considering how young and inexperienced our D is, we have nowhere to go but up. As the season goes on our D is going to get even better.Kick coverage has been stellar this year but bad games happen to every unit. Our KO returns team just had thiers so tighten back up guys.Matt Bryant is playing so well I dont even consider him missing when he trots onto the field. BIG difference from last year.We are finding out just how much we missed Michael Jenkins. Is Michael Palmer the heir apparent to Tony Gonzalez? No serious injuries, thank goodness. Was Ryan sacked, or even hit in this game? No? Then give Kudoes to our O line, after all we sure get onto them when they 'let' Ryan get beat up.Once again a team needing turnovers to win finds out it takes more to beat the Falcons. No run game and no run D is going to get you beat against the good teams, TB.On that same note, looks to me like TB could use a run stuffing DT like Jamaal Anderson. Anderson really came thru at least twice that I saw. That TD to Benn, if Weatherspoon had been out there, would he have defended it better, do you think? Coverage looked good until the last second.Moore's interference call...if he had jumped up and reached for the ball when he ran into the WR, would it have still been pass interference or incidental contact, like Grimes INT was?IF TB had scored at the end, the Falcons would have had plenty of time. I think we would have still won the game with a Matt Bryant field goal. Would have been interesting, though.Matt Bryant helps beat his old team and acts like its just another game. Keith Brooking might want to take notes. And is Brooking still Ring of Honor material? Heck thats a whole 'nother thread right there! If the Falcons and TB both make the playoffs, then there is a chance they might play a third time this season. That has happened twice before for the Falcons, at NO in 1991 and against SF in Atlanta's super bowl year. Falcons won both times.Napoleon once said he would rather be lucky than good. The Falcons are both. Edited November 8, 2010 by egoprime II

The Falcons are both.I guess I am as critical as they come. But here is what I did not like.Kick coverage was bad.Offensive run blocking was not good. The defense saved us in this game. Dunta had 1 forrible play and Abe once again has trouble with run containment. The offensive skilled players did a good job overall.I think our OL is wearing down and that worries me. If our OL falls apart we are doomed. I'll take 6-2 for now but lots of work to do folks. Sorry I am so critical but I want this team to be able to compete with any team. No sacks on Ryan. No ints, no fumbles. Give the OL some credit.
dmite
Matt Bryant is playing so well I dont even consider him missing when he trots onto the field. BIG difference from last year.A lot different from preseason when people were calling for Bryant's head on here. I tried to calm them down, but it was tough. Clark Kent™
Our run game rolled em up. No sacks on Ryan. No ints, no fumbles. Give the OL some credit.Meh I wouldn't give the O line too much credit. Ryan isn't the easiest QB to sack in the first place and their D line hasn't put pressure on QB's very much at all this year. Add in that Brian Price is out of the lineup at DT then its really not that impressive. And i belive TB's run defense was among one of the worst in the league so we could have done better than we did on the ground. Don't get me wrong we did good, but we definitley could have done alot better. Some analysts predicted Turner to put up 150.
Plunket76
The Bucs remind me of last year's Denver Broncos. Tampa just doesn't have the talent to make it to the finish. They're staring at 7-9 or 8-8.Thursday is the real test.
-Falcon4Ever-
our kick/punt return coverage has been a problem all year, maybe last 2 years....Ryan was hit a couple times but not as much as normal.I believe the pi you are talking about he did get his hand on the ball
OilFuturesTrader19
Matt Ryan got smacked real hard a couple of times. One when Blalock completely ignored the guy in front of him and helped McClure. The guy had a free path a leveled Ryan. It was towards the end of the Half. Despte some pressure from the TB rush Ryan did not get sacked so that was for sure a winning factor.I thought Turner would get more yards too, he had a lot of short 2 yard runs and 9, 10 yard runs, kinda strange really. Snelling rushed I think 9 times for 30 some odd yards, combine his and Turner's yards and you have over 130 at over 4 yards per, still a good game rushing wise. Sorry I am so critical but I want this team to be able to compete with any team.I don't mind critical but I like the fact we have been able to win these close games and outside of the Steelers game I like us to win close games which tells me we are mentally tough and it bodes well for later in the season. We don't throw away games also that we have in past seasons so I like us.Its easy to be critical and pick out things we have done wrong but if we play like this and still are putting Ws on the board I think its nothing but positives for the future. The Falcons are both.I agree with your assessments. I also have noticed that with the way Ryan has progressed, that upgrading the Oline a bit and getting either a deep threat or one of those freak TEs like New england's Hernandez or Detroits Pettigrew will seriously cause this offense to explode. Palmer is gonna be a decent TE--good blocker and ok hands, but he's far from an offensive threat. He's getting good enough now its time to get him more weapons. I have no problem with our defense--particularly our DLine. JA98 is looking very good. I do see us paying a lot of attention to offense next year.
