Joremarid
I'm going to hurt your feelings here but what I'm going to tell you is simply the truth.Vick has a better resume than Ryan as of today. (post-season being the differentiator)Vick is having a better season (according to passer rating that people love so much) as of today. These are both facts. Can they change? Absolutely. However, today, that's the situation. If you want to talk about upside that's a totally different story. One that Ryan wins by a landslide by virtue of age and the fact that Vick can't possibly maintain his playing style for too much longer, especially since he'll likely land with some bottom feeder next season. Would you get worked up if someone started a thread comparing Ryan and Brady? or Ryan and Manning? Probably not.The sooner people can get over what happened three years ago and just talk about the guy like you'd talk about any other QB the sooner the threads will go away. They're started because it gets people worked up. As soon as you stop getting worked up about it, no more threads.you say that vick has ryan in the playoff department but to be honest i would be severly, severly disappointed if Ryan matches Vick's playoff record, which is only 2 wins since coming in the league 9 years ago. btrain5489
You're not hurting my feelings. Those facts would be relevant if Vick was the Atlanta QB. And nobody is suggesting that the Falcons trade for Brady or Manning.I didn't see that myself but anyone that's suggesting that Vick is coming back to Atlanta is foolish. My point is just that we should be able to have rational discussions of our QB compared to other QBs in the league without things getting crazy. In the case of Vick Mora has moved on and seems to have forgiven the guy and Blank has moved on and seems to have forgiven the guy. If Mora and Blank can there's absolutely no excuse for people on the MB not doing the same.you say that vick has ryan in the playoff department but to be honest i would be severly, severly disappointed if Ryan matches Vick's playoff record, which is only 2 wins since coming in the league 9 years ago.To quote Mora Sr, "I just hope he can win a game." He'll have to do that before we can talk about him getting to a championship game. Luckily the NFC is crazy this year and he might get that shot...with a bye even at this rate.Might even get a chance to go head to head with Vick and quiet down ( or validate ) some of the hate. sdogg
People love Cutler, Favre, and Vick because they have the ability to hit the homerun at any moment. I don't know how fans can even stomach their play. I don't want to be constantly on edge, waiting for the gunslinger to throw the dumb picks. I'd rather have my QB be consistent and careful with the ball, and maybe take a few shots from time to time.Well said. Plus we want a franchise QB we can be proud of both on and off the field. One that puts in 300% effort to becoming the best he can and making his team better.
falconidae
So you saying Norwood hasn't been injury prone? No, I'm saying that if you were a Falcons fan, that fact wouldn't make you happy.
falconidae
I didn't see that myself [the idea of bringing Vick back] but anyone that's suggesting that Vick is coming back to Atlanta is foolish. ....Then you don't read the boards much. That was the same year that not one but two 8-8 teams made the playoffs and the falcons ended up playing one of those 8-8 teams in the second round. Geneaut
I can't wait till the games against New Orleans and Baltimore because so far we haven't played one good team yet. New Orleans was not full strength when we won in their place. It was a lucky win. Tampa Bay was 5-2 yeah, but this win is not like beating a 5-2 Giants team. If we win those games then I'll be convinced this is a good team.'Full strength' is joke man ... we haven't played 'full strength' all year either. A 'W' is a 'W'. Get it down the fleld Matt
Bump. There's no denying this. Matt Ryan is looking real good, we are lucky to have him as our QB.It's great to have a QB who gives his all and doesn't quit in games. He is a winner, and can beat good teams and never loses to bad teams, unlike Vick who often lost to horrible teams after playing a good game. Vick was so inconsistent, plus his TD to turnover ratio is horrible! Edited November 11, 2010 by Get it down the fleld Matt
FalconFanForLife
are out in force. Some more stats- 4-2 in his last 6 road games, including victories over the Jets and the Saints.2-2 this year against teams with winning records- including a road victory.4-0 at home3900, 26-10, are just below elite numbers for the year. If the O gets a little more efficient, he can hit 4000 and 30 TDs- which are elite numbers.Would like to have seen at least a couple of first downs and a FG after the onside kick - would have made the rest of the game a lot less tense. This is a very good QB the falcons have here. There are still a few folks out there who somehow think Vick is coming back here, and they start a disproportionate amount of threads here, but falcons fans are happy with what we've got.Great Post !Unfortunately, this forum has always been and always will be a place to find positive information like you posted, and a repository for stupid people to display their bizarre opinions.Free speech is like that. falconidae
Aaaaah, the trolls have disappeared, they'll be back if the Falcons manage to lose to Tampa, but Ryan is now 12-2 in his last 14 games, 9-2 this year, 6-0 at home, 4-2 against winning teams, on pace for 3900+ yards, 27 TDs and 7 INTs. The Chunk
So you saying Norwood hasn't been injury prone? No what you don't understand is that you are a disease and need to go away. I'm sure your team has a message board too. Why don't you go to it, their fans will appreciate your incitefull intelligent remarks about how attractive you find your own sister and how you ate too much lead based paint as a child. You shot yourself in the foot laughing about Norwood you idiot, flee now and take homey and roddywhitemvp with you.
